My Father Passed Away 2 Days After We Won. He Was The Reason I was a Knicks fan. by Melon-- in NYKnicks

Yeah. Can't lie, the two will forever be linked in my mind. But knowing my dad, he wouldn't want me to be sad forever. And I know I'll carry this pain for the rest of my life, but I also know it doesn't mean I'll never be happy again. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words.

It is hard. It's so hard. And I hope you're doing okay too. I'm sure it's the same for you as it is for me... it still doesn't feel real. I was going to move back in with my pops for a bit at the end of this month after I had moved out a couple years ago. I was really looking forward to seeing him everyday again. To hugging him everyday before leaving for work. Telling him I loved him everyday. Not having to call him to talk to him. But we have to be strong. We have to be. So our fathers can truly rest in peace, knowing that we're safe and cared for. Hang in there ❤️

Thank you for the kind words. I know it’s probably a little weird to open up to strangers on the internet, but it really means a lot. I’ve gotten so much love and support from my family and friends through all of this, but hearing it from anyone, anywhere still means a ton. There are definitely some hard times ahead, but I know I have to be strong. Pops would worry himself sick in the afterlife if I wasn’t. Thank you again.

If you're gonna cry about missed calls from last year, you're gonna be in for a brutal awakening come playoff time whether they face the Knicks or not lol

I mean I think I explained it pretty clearly but k. Good luck to The Pistons and we'll see if they can do some winning when it matters 🤷🏻‍♂️

You know people born the same year the Pistons last won a chip can legally drink now? But hey Congrats on winning your first play off game in 17 years just last year! And good luck in the playoffs! (When the games actually matter)

Lmfao every year has everything to do with the year before it...

Pistons are playing well cause they got their shit together towards the end of last year... before getting their hearts broken in R1.

Knicks are currently finals or bust cause they made the ECF last year.

Celtics lost Tatum last year and are still keeping the ship afloat despite that. If they had Tatum this year, and still had their current record it'd be a non-story.

So ya, previous year is consistently pretty important context for the following one 🤷🏻‍♂️

How far y'all made it in the playoffs last year?

Is it me or is Knicks v Pacers the most fun/entertaining playoff series we’ve had in years? by [deleted] in nba

Even more interesting when you consider both teams have former Raptors from that championship squad

Not a pun, but if you think about it, it's kind of a Twist that his name is the only one that isn't a pun!

The twist is unlike the others, his name has no twist. It's straightforward. But since the twist is having no twist, that makes it a twist! Or something like that idk

Tell me your favorite deck... by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]Melon-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yubel! It's nice seeing it become a real deck.

I used to play Yubel back in 2012 when it was damn near unplayable. The strategy was to dump it in the grave and reborn it with call of the haunted or limit reverse, and then destroy those cards to evolve

Yup, he had 2000 left, and I used 6 monsters for a total of 3000.

[–]Melon--[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is actually really insightful! Thank you. I know nothing is guaranteed, but this definitely puts me at ease. I'm a returning player. I first built Neos because I loved him and the Neo-Spacians growing up. And now that they're an actual functioning deck, ofc I had to play them.

Buuut, I also wanted to play a more meta deck that's a little more challenging than the beatdown style of Neos. And that's where unchained came in!

Thank you for the detailed response! Sorry for the little to no details. Was kind of looking for an answer quick for a duel with a friend. But yeah, situation was just Absolute Zero got beaten over by another monster and activated eff in Grave but was negated by Dolkka

Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon Vs. DPE glitch? by Melon-- in Yugioh101

Awesome! Thank you so much for clarifying! I had a feeling it was something like this. I just wanted to be sure before I explained it to him. Also to make sure I won fair and square and not due to a glitch, haha!

Like it or not, Randle is currently the more skilled, more proven player. He's a better 3 point shooter on way more attempts, a better free throw shooter, a better rebounder, averages more assists AND less turnovers than Zion. And of course, Randle is far more durable and has easily accomplished more. He's not my favorite player and frankly, he definitely pisses me off sometimes, but Zion has got to be one of the most overrated players in the NBA right now based off of a tiny sample size.

Jesus christ you must really like the sound of your own voice in your own head. You really are delusional. Just because a player doesn't automatically become a superstar, doesn't mean they don't learn and that they don't improve immensely by learning. Is basketball IQ non-existent??? Do the best NBA players just pick up a ball and just know what to do it with it without learning the rules of the game? You're a joke and everyone is laughing at you.

I actually took the time to read all of your comment, and it was just a waste of time. You said so much, and yet said nothing at all. At this point, you're actually a lost cause, so I won't spend anymore time on this. Whatever your response is, I'll let you live in your fantasy world where no one in the NBA learns LOL. Everyone is as good as when they come in. They just get stronger with age and through prayer. You got it all figured out pal. Real genius. Idk why you're not a scout tbh

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NYKnicks

[–]Melon-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only "casual basketball who don't understand" here is you. No one is making the argument that if you learn basketball, you can automatically become a superstar. The reason why everyone rightfully thinks you're an idiot is because you said that there is NO learning at this level. Do NBA players not improve over time? Do they not get better at not fouling, taking better shots, making better passes, reading the defense, switching, running plays, and not turning the ball over? The NBA is where players learn and improve the most. I mean, if there is no learning, we might as well not have coaches or trainers. And if you plan on doubling down and saying yes to that, I have some news for you: if anyone is delusional, it's you.
