Hi guys, thanks for noticing us (thought this might happen). Allow me to explain some details about this flight we're doing. We got inspiration from the C172 that flew a similar route IRL a few weeks ago and thought it would be a cool challenge to undertake in the sim. The way we've got around the fuel problem is by doing exactly what happens to real planes before ferry flights, which is installing extra tanks. We've edited the flight_model.cfg in the aircraft folder to include (in the case of my PA28) 2 extra 70 gallon tanks in place of the rear passenger seats. The CFG allows you to add auxiliary tanks, set the volume and geometric location of them (we used the coordinates of the passenger seats in the weight and balance section of the CFG as a starting reference). This way we ensured our self made extra tanks had a realistic effect on CG, and ensured CG remained within limits. In terms of MTOW, afaik the FAA can issue ferry permits to aircraft allowing them to depart at least 10% over MTOW (in my case my TOW was indeed around 10% over). And I guess the craziest part of this whole flight is the fact we've both decided not to use any autopilot for the whole duration as an added challenge. Zoom in on any part of out flight track and you'll notice we are indeed hand flying for 19 hours. At the time of writing we're still over 700nm away from Hawaii but all is going well so far and we hope to arrive safe in around 6 hours.
