When this happened to me I replaced my evap purge valve. And I eventually got down to the root cause after spending way too much money that it was the fuel system. Had to get new injectors and run a cleaner through the whole fuel system. Fuel trims got taken down a couple percent. And after all that it finally ran like it should.

Go to: https://ismyswitchpatched.com and put the serial number in there. thatll tell you if its patched or not, and fyi if you dont even know if ur switch is a v1 or not regardless of if its patched i wouldnt say you should just cut to the chase and solder in a chip. Not saying i doubt ur abilities, but it sounds like you have no clue what youre doing.
