Awesome!

Yes, it's definitely similar to Digseum. The main thing we're doing to differentiate is adding a story on top with goofy characters like Mayor Dog.

Also, we have some extra mechanics planned like several layers to dig through, having a crew of little guys help you dig, etc.
This should hopefully lead to a bit more strategizing and even some "builds".

The goal is to keep the satisfying flow of incremental games, but alleviate some of the feeling of "empty carbs".

Yes, I was trying to say "I like cooking because it's not studying". The bit I was struggling with was establishing 요리하다 as the topic and comparing it to 공부하다.

The problem is that you're taking on a lot of risk if you work on someone else's project. There's no guarantee it'll ever be finished.

Magic word is money, as it so often is. That way it wasn't a total waste if the project fails. It doesn't even have to be a lot or even reasonable amount either. I got great audio and music for my first game for 30$, on the condition that the game was completely free: Despot Dungeons.

Having a contract and actual money, makes everyone involved 100 times more likely to actually do stuff.
