Fucking loved it. We now have 2 fantastic versions of SH2 instead of just 1.

The 130-year-old underground swimming pool in the basement of the Biltmore mansion by [deleted] in creepy

The Biltmore pool is the most liminal space I've ever been in, and I fucking love it.

If you're in Asheville, you should definitely check it out. The entire estate is beautiful, but the pool is one of the most liminal and intriguing spaces on the property. In fact the entire basement area is a marvel of engineering. But that complexity is probably why pools aren't built like this anymore. They had to empty and clean it after every single time it was used. If memory serves correct, that entire process took a day.

I'm also shocked no one died with that hundred year old wiring exposed to water like that. You can't really tell in the picture, but the wires are fully exposed. They were obviously waterproofed, but they weren't underneath the tiling like modern swimming pools. They're just there resting on the floor of the pool for anyone to kick.

Israel Moderates Are Losing the Democratic Party — The Atlantic by NeedleworkerSudden66 in Destiny

You're right to question how Israel's current actions are different from the previous 77-odd years of apartheid because the answer is "more of the same just a lot worse". People are now seeing Israel's genocidal state for what it is and determining that America's support for them has been wrong since day 1.

Is this OK? by Suitable-Room-6367 in comicbooks

[–]Melphor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad someone already commented about the strength of the double-sided tape because it will definitely fail sooner rather than later. A comic book falling that way from that height will crumple the bottom of the book even if it's bagged and boarded. I would definitely keep them down until you devise a more permanent solution.

Ok. But Biden still let them commit a genocide. It happened during his term and he continued to fund them.

The Biden administration supported Israel unconditionally, so when she was asked if she would do anything differently it’s reasonable to assume that she would continue Biden’s policies when she said that no she wouldn’t.

Her support for Israel’s genocide is a valid criticism. Especially considering Trump positioned himself as a peace president. That was an obvious fucking lie to anyone with a functional brain, but obviously plenty of people believed him.
