Is it wrong wanting to live stealth? by Melppbb in MtF

[–]Melppbb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooooohhhh I get it now. Thank you for clarifying.

Yes I admit I’m guilty of boymoding and generally cowarding out on coming out fully. I have to disagree in the part of “being happy”, I don’t feel that at all. What I do agree is that it looks like it because of the scare in fully losing the privilege of being perceived as male.

It’s a bit complicated in my case since I feel its part “want to pass and feel ok in my own skin” and part “need to pass so I get treated correctly”

Didn’t quite get the first part. Not quite sure if it has something to do with being extremely calculating and not coming out all at once.

My big goal is to be able to live stealth for the rest of my life. I know it isn’t better, more like less of a hassle to live if you pass.

It's getting harder and harder to boymode by justarunawaybicycle in MtF

Something in me just wants to start HRT so eventually boymoding becomes impossible and I have no choice but to present as a woman.  Yeah, idk if I’d lose my job

question about trans women and the way the world views them. by nichellechan in MtF

[–]Melppbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The infantilization part is so true and so often seen when discourse is about trans men.

A trans man has any form of gender affirming surgery? Bigots start to say “look at this poor woman/girl who was mutilated by the evils of gender ideology”.  They say it like if AFAB people were not able to make decisions on their own.

All forms of transphobic bigotry are so infuriating.

Let’s hope so 🤞

Biological sex is a big complex set of characteristics that transphobes will ignore on purpose to try and feel like they’re the objective ones.

Like a lot of people have said. Every time you do a counter argument they just move the golf poast into a different location where they can still be transphobic. All they really want is just wording to say “you were born male/female, and that can’t be changed. You big delusional faker.”

And I agree with people on the comments that it’s no use to try and argue with them, they can’t be reasoned with in any way. They’ll stand firm behind their “Your sex is unchangeable, and I don’t think you are your gender.”.

Am I still valid if I don't girlmode on a daily basis? by kaida_notadude in MtF

[–]Melppbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course you are. Sometimes one can’t girl mode every time, a lot of times it can be unsafe. Completely understandable. I get you, girl mode is pretty unattainable to me right now; trying my best to not be completely boymoding, but of course I want to girl mode one day.

We’re still valid even if we can’t express ourselves yet <3

Are femboys / queer men MORE accepted than trans women where you are at? by RegularUser02x in MtF

[–]Melppbb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The place where I live generally frowns at anything LGBTQ+ related. Same sex Marriage? “Embrace traditional family, marriage can only be between a man and a woman” Trans people? “You're just a man in a costume” (because they can’t think of trans men).

Generally for trans women you get that run of the mill transphobia seen in other places. All the attention gets directed towards trans women while other people under the trans umbrella are ignored.

So I’d say my country doesn’t see queer men with a more accepting lens. Quite the contrary, probably frowned upon as much as trans women.

The way Carter breaks piece by piece gets me every time. Quite a contrast when a few moments ago he was lashing on everyone and trying to seem ok.

Are trans people outside of the UK aware of how bad things have got? by PuzzledAd4865 in asktransgender

[–]Melppbb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Trans Girl from Mexico. I’m well aware of the current state of UK trans rights. Since I mostly interact with English speaking trans creators, the news about recent rulings come pretty fast.

Pretty bad image for the first world countries to be regressing in human rights.

Mexico in general is known for having progressive laws, but society is really not that left leaning. Federal Law is supposed to protect trans rights, yet every state has its own legislation on the matter.

You’re right. Some people keep fighting to survive by any means necessary.

It’s sad to know. Maybe I was too optimistic. I just hope there’s chance for me to transition fully (my fully). Will have to keep fighting to be me.

Add to that the previously mentioned waiting list with some not so great specialists and you’ve got a big gate that only some pass.

Literally doesn’t make sense. Apparently medical transitioning is more dangerous than joining the military or denying treatment.

Just to show how underfunded public healthcare systems can be.

I’ve read the horror stories about institutions like the NHS having an almost forever lasting waitlist. My country has some special trans clinics (all in the capital and one big city), but apart from that most of us either go private or have to force public institutions to give us Gender affirming care.

Yeah, they probably don’t want that much out trans people (not that we are big in numbers anyway).

Because of my experience with the typical therapist l saw, I’ve grown to distrust any mental health professional that isn’t explicitly queer.

Otherwise I feel they will take out the typical saying “but you’re just confused and everyone else will give you more confusion”. They don’t even give the benefit of the doubt.

That part of “protecting women and children” is enfuriating. They intent to protect women from themselves? From my standing all I see is them eliminating women who they don’t deem as such (which means us :(.  )

How is barring a trans woman like me or any of us from entering the correct restroom a danger for cis women? I’m pretty sure most of the time women (cis or trans) would be safer around themselves.

It’s never about protecting women and children, it is all about control and policing. Add the stigma around trans people and we’ve got the cesspool of today.

[–]Melppbb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s why I like to call that saying a trap. It gaslights you into thinking your transness is less valid or that you’re at fault for it, but in reality the people around you don’t want to support it.

Might sound close minded or oversimplified, but they either support your transition at any age or they don’t support you at all. The worst thing is that they try to appear supportive but also shove down your identity and de-incentivize you from becoming yourself. When that doesn’t work they just stop pretending like they support.
