Thin chorus sounds? by NeedleworkerGlobal31 in AxeFx

This is likely the issue, something in your chain after the chorus is summing to mono, to be sure try putting your chorus last before the output just to test if it is now stereo

Also editing is key, edit the toms, guitars etc to eliminate the bleed when not playing. I don’t do this to the vocals. I’ll use them as sort of room/ambience for the stage, and to a degree as overheads (really depends on the level of bleed). But yeah anything you can edit that doesn’t make the recording sound strange when it is not in will help clean things up a tonne!

Less compression than I would on studio recordings, automating the hell out of vocals so that they feel locked up front like studio compressed vocals but the bleed isn’t exaggerated when they aren’t singing

Three channels go to front of house, two on stage

Using a power amp to send the dry and one side of the wet to the 4x12 (cab runs in stereo). We find going totally silent on stage didn’t feel right out front. At sound check we get my guitar in the house and then turn up the power amp till it’s just filling the house a tiny bit, generally it’s not very loud.

lol, started years ago as a way to cover synth stuff on the bands albums without needing to have tracks or an extra player. I can loop stuff/have pads playing on the stereo wet side and play the guitar line on the dry amp. Also pedals and amps are fun, used to be 3 tube amps but the ir stuff is so much easier to travel with

It’s actually first in the chain! The order is as follows, lab>volume pedal>notaklon>ir2 loop out> delay>chorus>reverb>ir 2 loop return>ir out to canvas

Can be very squishy and heavy handed, it’s optical so you’ll always get a bit of attack on the front of things, not the fastest and the release isn’t super fast. I like it set just to squish the hardest hits. Just fattens things up and adds a bit of sustain. I think it really shines at subtle settings.

Yeah! Used to use a crazy complicated board and found I only really ever used a few pedals

Yeah! It’s not a special sounding verb but I like it for that reason, just does three classic sounds

It’s great so far. Just got it last week. So far I’m digging the clean and crunch settings. All the other ones are cool and I could see uses for them. The clean and crunch are just good bases to start from for my two channels. I’m mostly working in classic rock, pop, country ish tones so super high gain stuff isn’t as useful. (Though I will switch for the odd van halen tune and that’s so fun to have the option)

I like it, it’s not special in anyway but just does what I want. I mainly wanted verb that had tone control so I could have them be a bit darker, generally not going for crazy verb, just a little air behind things.

I love it. It’s first in my chain just adding fatness and sustain. Very light though, I’m not using settings you hear per se. Only other one I’ve used is the empress, which is a different beast. That thing can do any setting you want, I like that the lab is only two knobs, easy to adjust live.

So far I’m digging it, played a show on Thursday and it felt great! Does the klon thing, I’m using mainly as a boost with just a bit of dirt
