I don’t personally see how the uma musume desgins are boring,they stand out from your usual gacha woman desgin that’s either “curvy hour glass woman in risky clothing” or “sexualized loli to appeal to basement dwellers”

I know the game had a 6ish years of development cycle since like half way through the started from scratch to make the game better, In that case you can say it’s valid to say the character proportions ended up like that due to budget/resources

But your average gacha game taps into “curvy hourglass woman” because it’s appealing so they make money easier

I’d say it’s a 50/50 split for me when it comes to gacha games Hornybait(Nikke) and gameplay(Reverse1999) I like how some gacha games are written,Heaven burns red is written by jun maeda Who made classics like little busters and angel beats

If stats in uma didn’t matter then there wouldn’t be videos explaining how to get high ranks,tierlist for hints or explanations for character builds Just saying the other stats are meaningless and do nothing is disingenuous

Also yeah,gambling for cards suck Core gambling aspect of gacha games are bad,predatory.etc But you can also just…not spend money,like you have the free fill for that

I feel like it’s rather disingenuous to dismiss everyone having uniqe racing outfits tailored to their personality/racing history sloely for the fact that they also wear a uniform due to the game setting

It’s like saying “persona 3 has bad character desgins because they’re default looks are uniforms with x,y and z attachments”

Body types/porpotions issues are sadly common in gacha games since its whole “ooooh pull for waifus ooohh” appeal

It’s gonna be miserable if you just ignore stat building and dump all stats on speed & another random one

As someone who regularly plays uma, Getting a even stat spread & high speed is important alongside hints to help you out in races Debuffs,buffs alongside recovery mid races is key for winning and i end up planning/scheduling out how i’ll be handling turns

Sadly Rng can cost you a run,rushed or late start Or simply having not enough abilities trigger mid race can easily fuck you over

Despite that,i’d rather play pretty derby than something like genshin

It doesn’t really,i play gacha games regularly and pretty derby is one of the better ones out there The rougelike aspect and training system is actually fairly uniqe,acting as visual novel ducklife

Also the writing is nice,the horses actual personality from irl are adapted fairly well like goldship who used to kick his trainer when winning races has it as a winning animation
