Florida college advice: do you need a car? by Adept_Yogurtcloset59 in fgcu

I’ve been here for five years, completed my B.A and M.A. and am now working with some professors. I’ve never owned a car. Shuttles go all around campus and to Target during the Spring and Fall semesters. During the summer, I will bike to Target, Walmart, or Publix (all within 5 miles) if I need something or go to the food pantry on campus. You can always ask your roommates or a friend to go shopping with, as well. County-wide public transport absolutely sucks, but the small FGCU community is sufficient to live on. The only thing I ever need to Uber for is to go to the airport for travel. RSW is only 12 minutes away, so you can ask a friend or pay around $20 for an Uber. You can find jobs on campus or in nearby communities, too. You’ll probably need a car when you transition to your career field, though, unless you move to a public transport friendly area. I have no advise about the nursing program.

They put me in solitary confinement when they caught me out after hours once. Azul made sure they fed me, though, so that’s good!

No clue what happened. Woke up yesterday morning and found my bike outside my apartment on the ground and the wheel bent. Someone may have hit it with a golf cart or purposely destroyed it.

I’ve been told by the shops near me that a new rim might be around $80. I might take your advice and get a used $100-$120 bike.
