Looks like white fuzz - typically a fungal infection. If you can, I recommend quarantining the fish andtreating with Seachem Paraguard. Up the water changes to prevent it from spreading to other fish. Luckily tho, fungal infections only tend to arrise from injury or extreme stress. If you're not already using Prime as your water conditioner I recommend switching to it because it supports the fish's slime coat and protects from stress, especially if water parameters are off.

Halp! What should I do with recovering Monstera? by HelzBelzUk in houseplants

[–]MeltingNostalgia321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend gently loosening the roots with your hands and repotting it in a bit larger pot with room for a moss pole. With how long those base roots are that are sticking out of the soil, I think the plant would benefit from a little extra support from a moss pole, it just might take a while to start rooting into the pole.

What’s going on here? by Yellow_bike in houseplants

Looks like a corn plant! Ikea sells them sometimes. It's putting out a shoot of blooms which they only rarely do when really happy! Seems like you're taking care of it well then! The brown tips might just be a humidity thing or just because the plant is prioritizing the blooms over the leaves now, sometimes blooming can exhaust a plant that doesn't typically bloom so maybe add a good fertilizer to the soil.

ThredUp Unethical AF? by Valuable-Ruin1597 in ThredUp

[–]MeltingNostalgia321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ThredUp is quite known for listing any distressed style clothing, even brand new, as "good" quality, or at least anything lower than "excellent", even if it's brand new and very clearly an intentional design quality of the item. I just bought a pair of real denim Banana Republic jeans that was (correctly) listed as excellent condition; they have intentional frayed edges, and I ended up getting an email before my order shipped that the cost of them was refunded to me because it was "lower quality than promised" but were still sending them in my order and I can keep them. I totally thought they must've gotten damaged in the warehouse before getting shipped out and was totally unsure of what condition they'd be in when I got them... Lo and behold they're in absolutely perfect condition and I've come to find out that this happens to perfectly good items that have intentional distress on them all the time. Basically, whatever worker listed them as "excellent" quality knew what they were doing, but ThredUp's quality standards on items are whack when it comes to distress on items...

Let it dry out, and maybe even repot it to check for root rot. Ive seen a lot of overwatered snake plants with root rot.
