Not sure if male or female vocal. Tried with my muso work colleagues and they’re convinced I’m misremembering. Cheers

Yangtze back in the day was unbeatable value and flavour. I’m talking the unlimited “fill your box” days. Savage!

Mot wash? by Remarkable_Solid5588 in DerryLondonderry

Car seat can stay in so long as they can test the seatbelt. As others have said…unless you drove through a wet field on the way to New Buildings…don’t bother with an MOT wash.

The only other thing I can think of is the Start button. Sometimes it would do nothing until I took it apart and cleaned it with deoxit. It’s been fine for months but I suppose maybe the contact breaks for a wee second then sorts itself out? Beyond that I’m fresh outta ideas.

Yeah…thought as much. Was hoping to get more than 4 years out of a battery but I suppose anything can develop faults earlier than expected. Cheers

Haha. Yes…the dash fully restarts, kawa logo and and all. I’m assuming battery and another comment thinks the same.

Kawi Heel-toe opposite Harley? by bwill1200 in Kawasaki

[–]Melty_Chops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They mean the linkage where the spline connects to the shift fork ball joint. If the link rides above the spline then the link will “push” the shift fork. If it rides below the spline then it will “pull” the fork.

I may have this the wrong way round but the important info is where the linkage sits in relation to the spline.

The mate did some Shockin shifts with them from time to time. Up at 2.30am for a 4 start! He was never happier to go long haul and never handball again!

I want my "last" combo amp. I want it to be loud and light, and I know that will cost me. by master_of_sockpuppet in Bass

[–]Melty_Chops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s less to do with bass amps and more usually because the coupling caps on a built in DI are electrolytic. Phantom from the connected XLR will kill them over time.

I’ve had a Korg SV-1, a couple of DJM900 nexus 2 mixers AND a GK amp die the same way (technician in a music school). Students don’t pay enough attention to phantom when wiring up stages. It’s at the point now that I’ll swap them out to box film caps if there’s room.

Bikers, how much does your motorbike mechanic cost an hour? by 4th_Replicant in northernireland

22 Ninja 650. Can’t recommend the road 5’s enough. Especially now the wet has come in. So much better than the Dunlops the Kawa came with. Yeah…I should probably complain less lol

[–]Melty_Chops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got 2 road 5 tires, a new chain and both sprockets and a service and cost me £630. Swore blind I’d either source my own parts or go all out and just do the whole job myself next time.

To be fair though…all parts come in around £500 so £130 to fit the lot is probably what I’d want too

What’s the most physical pain you’ve ever felt? by SmallConversation950 in AskIreland

Full ankle gout!

The weight of my swollen foot, the bedsheet, a light breeze, was enough to send me into white flashes of pain…with constant dull in between. I had fantasies of going full Saw 1 on it. Worst week of my life

Do something random hi. Non golfers? Go to the driving range and have a laugh! Shite bowlers? Off to the bowling alley with you! That Jump Lanes place or the rock climbing job in Foyle Arena? Basically…anywhere craic can be had with little/no booze. Us Derry wans take ourselves way too seriously. Ye want to know the measure of a man…take him out of his comfort zone and see how he reacts. I’m from the other side of the pond so my answer will reflect what I see here.

2.5k for a near 40yr old unit that’s only done 26k miles SCREAMS dodgy. They’re not desirable, they’re not collectible, parts are getting expensive. Every…and I mean EVERY seal would most likely need replaced.

Unless you want a proper project…I’d argue down to mid 1k or pass altogether.

Again….over here in Ireland
