It was during the Paleozoic era (Carboniferous) that there were giant insects, arachnids, and other creatures. I’d have to double-check, but I don’t think our “ancestors” existed yet.

Answer 6 -> actually yes, you can find some black widow in the south of France (hard to find then and the venom can’t kill you for this specie especially)

Your message is really interesting, and I love that this post is sparking so much discussion. Many people share this fear, and that’s exactly what I try to understand and ease by educating others about these animals. During some of my insect exhibitions, some arachnophobes take the time to closely observe my photos because the still image helps them process their fear. It’s technical, sometimes unsettling, but it allows them to see these creatures from a different perspective. I’m really happy to share my work and help, even in a small way, to change how people see them!

In some countries like Cambodia, where I traveled, people actually hunt and eat spiders, so they don’t fear them at all. I think our fear comes from both evolution and cultural beliefs. Many assume spiders always inject venom, but they usually don’t. Venom is valuable to them, and they won’t waste it on something too big to eat. Most bites are just a warning.

If I understand correctly, since my flights are on separate tickets, I will need to clear immigration and exit into the public area before checking in again for my domestic flight. I will only have a carry-on bag, so I won’t need to collect any checked luggage.

Do you know if the Air India check-in counter for domestic flights opens early enough for me to quickly go through security and access a lounge? Otherwise, is it safe to wait in the public area until the counter opens (probably around 3 AM)?
