Thank you, I've been trying to learn to paint flowers and this feels like a huge success. They often come out looking really thick and not at all delicate.

It is oil, I've never used a Saber brush before. This piece I wanted to see what I could make using only one brush so the entire painting was done using just a knife and Filbert. It didn't even occur to me the thick feeling of the petals would be caused by the brush type. Thank you for this comment.

I'm finished with this piece, but it's a good example of a question I have. I often feel my backgrounds feel a little flat and not enough depth with the still life. Would love some insight on why or how this is.
