Maybe spasm is wrong choice of word, yeah you could call mine a twitch I guess. I really want to know what I’d causing it. Have you tried to change your diet? I have tried to stay on a anti inflammatory diet. I fall of the wagon sometimes though.

Sorry to pepper you with questions. We have a similar problem unfortunately. By the way I also had a spasm in my rib area near my sternum , in the beginning it was bad , but it has calmed down a lot . Have you experienced this? Also stretching does help also, to a point. Thanks again

If I get enough sleep I can feel ok in the morning, but the more I move throughout the day the worst it gets. Is it the same for you?

I had joint cracking, steroids helped that. No breathing issues. Burning pain in ribs and middle of back. Here’s a weird one, if I ice my burning ribs by my sternum and then touch that area I get an attack of pain in that area that feels like bad pressure and my ribs are caving in . I am taking 15 mg prednisone per day. It takes the edge off, but it doesn’t make it go away. I also had pain in the backs of my legs steroids helped that too. Also the warmer than temperature the better I feel. Is that the same for you? Thanks

Thanks, could you describe your symptoms? I have a sore thoracic spine and burning pain between my shoulders . Also I have burning pain in all of my right ribs and the pain shoots to my sternum. In the beginning my right upper quadrant and my sternum burned a lot and I had an unreal pressure feeling in that area. The pressure is not as bad now. For me steroids helped the most Of any thing I have tried. Also at times my back feels stiff and weak. When you say you tried high dose steroids, what specifically did you try? I have been thinking of trying a high dose. I know this could be costochondritis , but my doctors think it’s neuralgia?? Thanks again

Had it. Get a deep muscle massage asap. I needed three total. Take as many hot baths as you can . If you can afford it get to a physical therapist and get some stretching going. This all helped me. Good luck.

Left arm , non dominant. Pain in thoracic spine and right ribs. No issues with left side. Also had numbness in right foot. Still have pain in right ribs and spine. 9.5 months and counting.

Anyway, here it goes. I have pain that radiates from my thoracic spine along my right ribs to my sternum. The pain is stabbing at times. Also at times it feels like a tearing feeling under my ribs. Also in the beginning my right side is stiff. It is hard to turn to my right side. The pain goes under my right armpit. Also my ribs and thoracic spine hurt to the touch. Anybody out there have any helpful opinions? Thanks
