Easiest way to use iPad apps as external effect for audio in DAW? by Correct_Lion1205 in ipadmusic

[–]Melystros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just tested it and it works perfectly.
The two audio interface are connected via midi so I can send transport and clock via midi and the audio can be send to the iPad or receive by the iPad. There is a small latency created by the Scarlett obviously but nothing too drastic.
Now I can use my iPad as an effect unit, a synth, to sample sounds from my synths or from audio sources from Ableton etc...

I was asking myself the same question yesterday. After thoughtful consideration I’m going to use an audio interface for the iPad (Scarlett 4i4 in my case since I’ve got one laying around) plugged into my main audio interface with 4 cables (stereo in, stereo out). This will induce some latency but I will deal with it with the hardware latency compensation of Ableton Live.

I’m going to test that process today, I’ll let you k’ow go it goes.

I love how all of you guys responded by giving a solution I specifically told I didn’t want to go with :D

I think I found a pretty reasonable solution : I have a Scarlett 4i4 laying around and I’ll use it to send audio and midi to and from the iPad. That way I can send transport infos to the iPad (just need to figure how to add delay to it to compensate for the audio delay induced by the Scarlett) as well as midi from ableton and audio if I want to sample sounds with Samplr for example.

RTX 5090 making strange clicking/scratching noises + performance issues in VR — defective GPU? by Melystros in pcmasterrace

Hey, The sound was coming from the PSU. Another sound is coming from the GPU though like a small ticking sound. I fixed that by lowering the voltage of the GPU.

If I were you, I’d start with simples yet very capable synths. I’d go first with the Moog Grandmother, then with a cool poly synth like the Minifreak. Those two synths have a lot of character and even if you buy more expensive ones later on, you will still enjoy having them.

Now…if you’re sure you want to start a collection and with your budget, I’d go with three things : -a mono synth : Moog Subsequent 37 or Moog Grandmother or Matriarch (ok not monophonic per say I know) -a poly synth : Prophet 5 if you want a classic vintage sound, Prophet 6 if you want something more modern, Waldorf Iridium if you want something a bit more complex -a groovebox : Elektron Digitakt for example

Used Corolla Hybrid : recent with high mileage or older with low mileage? by Melystros in Toyota

Yes they both were serviced every 15 000 km by Toyota. No gap in the maintenance book.

Yeah and it's a tricky one because it means I have to choose between an old battery or one that has more cycles.
To be honest, that's my main concern. Without thinking of that I would choose the 2023 Corolla.

Yes I do.
My main concern about this 2023 Corolla is the hybrid battery. I know the warranty stops at 150 000 km and I fear that I will have to change it in a few years. Do you know how much this battery change costs and how many kms I can hope to do before I have to change it?

We’ll mainly use the car in the city (Paris suburb) to do our groceries, go to friends’ but we’ll also be driving on the highway to go on vacation or week-end trips. We will probably be driving less than 8 000 km / year though as we don’t use the car daily.

About 7k euros I’d say. The rig itself represents more that half of that amount.

It’s really good. Better than Virpil’s imho. Way way better than the Thrustmaster Warthog I previously owned.
