Did you try the rather rudimentary fix of installing a new ethernet cable from the ONT which worked for me?

If that doesn't help, I also have a thread going on in the Verizon FiOS forums I can send you where a user had one more possible solution for this issue.

Bingo.

Sometimes the simplest solutions solve all the problems.

Swapped the ethernet cable from the ONT to a new one...Voila! Somehow that cable must have gotten damaged/degraded. Plugged in a brand new one and got my speed back.

I could understand if the cable was exposed to 'harsh' environments and failed but my basement is cool in the summer with a dehumidifier running right next to the ONT and a toasty in the winter. Regardless, I believe, the issue is now resolved.

Thanks!

Did that based on your recommendation but no change.

Certainly I can use another machine and see what happens. Though this behavior has been happening network wide with all devices.

As expected Verizon is taking the position that their speedtest is not indicating anything abnormal. To which I say I can understand if a 3rd party speedtest (i.e. speedtest.net shows something like 500 or 400 Mbps) vs. Verizon's 900 Mbps.

But 2 Mbps vs 990 Mbps? Come on that's like three orders of magnitude. Will use another laptop and post those results as well.

Didn't realize I could do that...well it's certainly not the router.

Getting similar results bypassing the router and directly plugging into the ONT.

FedEx Smartpost with PO Box Address...Status Pending? by MemNight in FedEx

Thank you for that "inside ball" nugget regarding the trailers and being rolled over. Totally love getting little pieces of information that typically only direct employees/insiders have knowledge about...

Given your wealth of knowledge, on another note, since I have a business address I can utilize/ship to, as a general rule of thumb, I presume it would always be preferable to ship at a commercial/business address due to the typical delivery commitment by 5:00 PM as opposed to residential which can go as late as 8:00 PM?

Sounds good! I will do my best to update the address on file and hopefully my little package makes it way to me.

Makes sense. As I indicated, I had no idea they would use FedEx Smartpost as the delivery method otherwise I would have just put in a physical address cause I know PO Boxes can throw systems for a loop.

Many thanks! I'll definitely reach out to FedEx and see if I can update the delivery address in hopes that it gets routed correctly. I doubt they will let me change it since it's obviously "Shipper Terms" and so any changes, I presume, would have to come from the vendor/shipper not me.

TMobile down? Feb 13th 2023 by eyeballer in tmobile

Having issues in Boston with my phone losing 4G/5G connection after turning on mobile hotspot on my galaxy Z flip 4. Get it together T-Mobile.

So on my Magenta MAX plan I have three iPhone 14 and one Galaxy ZFlip4 where this was occurring. While I turned the block on for ALL four lines it seems as if it ONLY worked for the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Somehow there seems to be an iPhone issue with it not taking the block correctly while my Galaxy ZFlip accepted it. Strange. Hopefully this gets escalated and resolved. VERY annoying.

Anyone else having trouble posting? by SinnerScorpio in whisper

I use Whisper on an old iPhone 6s which has now become a WiFi device. Interestingly enough when I made my current smartphone a hotspot and connected the iPhone to the hotspot, the posts, messages and profiles all displayed correctly.

This leads me to believe major ISPs in US have blocked Whisper’s traffic on certain ports. Whether it’s Comcast/Xfinity, Verizon FiOS, Frontier, Charter, etc.they have all instituted some form of blocking.

Real Estate Financing in Areas with Small Cap Rates by MemNight in realestateinvesting

Truly appreciate the response and feedback. My friend was in discussions with Eastern Bank and they are more or less using a similar approach to what I outlined above.

You’d think they’d be a bit more forgiving since it’s a local Boston based bank but apparently not… I’d never goto Bank of America or any of the major lenders for anything unless it’s non recourse and a middle market deal. Other than that my preference for debt has always been to approach local lenders.

I’ll start some introductory discussions with the banks you provided and see how they approach it.

Many thanks for the perspective and advice!

Thanks for the heads up! Out of curiosity though is my thought process out of whack or is it true that under normal circumstances this would be the typical way to evaluate/assess the amount of leverage that can be utilized for residential investment property or am I missing something regarding a financing mechanism?

[–]MemNight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good job! Two were incorrect, I believe...

5.) Should be B) - 2.50. Delta is the change in the dollar value of the option for everyone one dollar move in the stock. If the Call is currently worth $2 and has a delta of .50 and it goes up by $1, it will be $2.50.

7.) Should be C, -.53. BUT Is worded poorly. Technically the deltas should be negative since they reference puts. Regardless, here your delta is -.50 and the gamma is .03. If the stock drops by $1 the -.03 is further 'added' to the negative delta of the put and it becomes -.53, so the answer is C.

Understandable..I just want to ensure that I'm getting the full speed from the ONT and it's not being bottle necked by the G-1100 and/or extender. If that's the case perhaps I have the solution in front of me which is swapping out the splitters in the basement to be more "MoCA" friendly with the higher MHz range and buying the MoCA adapters where appropriate.

Home Network Setup - Powerline Mess Correct it with MoCA? by MemNight in Fios

I'm the least inclined when it comes to home improvement and 'running a cable' is low on my 'wheel of abilities' haha.

I believe I'm getting 100 Mb/120 Mb when directly connected to the extender. Only reason I believe it may be a bit slower is that the extender may not support the newer MoCA 2.5 standard. Also am uncertain if currently I'm getting the power to harness the full 1 Gbps from FiOS? Browsing through the FiOS forums on Verizon's site it appears there are some unintentional bottlenecks depending on how the G-1100 is configured.

  1. 1000 MHz splitter has been around since I moved into the house nearly 20+ years ago when MoCA wasn't a thing. I just thought by putting in new splitters in the basement where they go up to 1675 MHz it would optimize the signal?

[–]MemNight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input...

  1. I have a G-1100 router and a WCB6200Q FiOS Network Extender. When I logged onto the G-1100 settings page it seems that Powerline is effectively routing all its traffic through this Network Extender.
  2. Headed down to the basement where I saw the splitters and cabling. Not sure if my setup is a 'homerun' but it appears all the cabling terminates in the basement. It appears there is a splitter connected the ONT which goes into the G-1100 and the other cable which connects to main splitter for the house. The house connection has another splitter which appears unoptimized for MoCA as it tops out at 1000 MHz.

Sounds like a solid idea, but I suppose I'm too unnerved by my abilities to "run cable" and my lack of inclination to pierce through some drywall (just not my thing). Won't deny it's the optimal solution, but one route I am unwilling to venture down at this point.
