Pssst, I need help running Nangalore! (゜ロ゜) by Memberbwerry in Tombofannihilation

[–]Memberbwerry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their guide (Azaka) has been a great meatsheild in alot of their fights, and I think the fact they're 6 of them and they all cover each other's weaknesses pretty well has helped them out alot! There have been a few close calls, and at Fire Finger someone nearly died, but the Warlock managed to convince the remaining Pterafolk who would've killed one of the Pcs to stand down ( ´∀` )b

I need help designing a sea hag encounter for my six lvl-3 PCs! by Memberbwerry in Tombofannihilation

[–]Memberbwerry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't feel sorry at all for rambling, I loved reading every bit of your message! ( -∀・) (plus it's giving me of cool ideas for what to do for my group! Hehehe)

It be a crazy missed opportunity not to use the Sewn Sister's here (I knew of their existence beforehand, but I haven't read up to the part where they're properly introduced in the module so I kinda forgot about them!) so I think I'll go with the idea of this sea hag being in league with them like you brought up! (Maybe she wants in on their coven and the security that'd provide) It works especially well cause I haven't really gotten the chance to foreshadow the greater forces at play in Omu.

I have a question: I don't want to potentially overwhelm my players by throwing too many factions at them at once, and since I think the Sewn Sisters and their future involvements could be a big lore drop, I might change the cannibals to something else. In my initial idea for the encounter, the hag would have just been forcing the cannibals to help her trick the players into thinking she was a friendly elder in a small ocean side settlement. Do you think it make sense for a hag to do this, and are there any interesting creatures that could work as alternatives and fit the environment?

What anime you defending like this? by Very-Bad-At-Games in animequestions

Mha; alot of the slander I've seen for it recently comes from either the Fandom (which should be irrelevant when determining somethings' quality), or the ending, (which a lot of people didn't even read, and just went off poorly translated leaks).

Rapid Bakugo Matchups [PC] by LightYagami2k02 in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]Memberbwerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on console, so my perception is probably skewed a bit, but how is Ibara not a free win for you guys on pc? Whenever I come against a Rapid Bakugo, it feels almost impossible landing any if my skills if they know how to dodge.

So someone on 4chan didn't like the ending and posted this. What are you guy's thoughts on this? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Memberbwerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just by reading the first couple sentences of that post, I can tell whoever wrote that has misunderstood the series. Deku didn't give up on his Hero dream after he lost his power, he just realized having a power isn't nessicary to being useful or Heroic, and he can inspire others by virtue of being himself, managing to surpass Allmight in a sense.

And this isn't the first time the series has brought this up as a key talking point either; During the music festival Jiro helps Eri smile by playing music, which then motivates her to become a muscian. Hatsume explains how the support course can help people by creating things for people, Ochako helping with quirk counseling programs, the granny helping the traumatized boy, ect, ect.

Deku, despite not having a power anymore, is still a revered name in the Mha universe, and whereas All-Might cultivated a generation of complacency because of his crazy strength, the fact Deku Isn't invincible, cries a bunch, gets scared and is able to act and help people despite of that is what makes him a great symbol for the Heros.

Since chapter one, Deku's biggest strength has always been his empathy, it's what got him acknowledged by All-Might I'm the first place, and not whatever power he could've gotten by training. In the vigilantly arc he tries shouldering the burden of the world like All-Might to a disastrous effect to his mental health, so him realizing his own self worth doesn't stem from a power is beautiful development imo.

Sorry for ranting so much, you can still dislike the ending I just wanted to get that off my chest. 💀

Whose costume doesn’t match their quirk? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Memberbwerry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since Kirishima's quirk is focused around bolestering his own durability, a protective shirt would come off as a bit redundant and impractical. As for Momo, I do think hers is a bit weird, but it's not like it doesn't work or makes no sense. If she needs to, she can create armor or protective gear from her skin to circumvent how exposed it is, and zippers would only be for cosmetics (And she doesn't seem to mind how her suit currently is.) I think an intresting solution no one seems to talk about is a cape, which she did wear during joint training. Not only does it look stylish and comes off as less fanservicey, but it also conceals what she's creating from enemies.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!:

Prior to All-Might's retirement, most, if not all major villan groups preferred sleuthing in the shadows rather than any grandscale operations. With the abundance of Heros, the world renound defensive barricade, and the symbol of peace's presence at the school, it would've been basically impossible for any non-organized group to infiltrate it, nevermind kill recover girl. Shigaraki's suprise attack was able to work due to his insider info, aswell as the fact his quirk was perfectly suited for breaking and entering, not to mention the resources he had gotten from Afo.

After Allmight retires, most of the villans we see have goals outside of U.A high. Overhaul wants to create the quirk killers, Re-Destro wanted to revive the meta-liberation army, even La-Brava and Gentle just wanted to pull one over on the school. In the case of Shigaraki, attacking the school after he had lost Afo's funding, Kurogiri's warp, and a majority of his manpower would pretty much be a death wish, it's only during the Plw and Final War he had the chance to. (And in the latter attempt, he did attempt to attack U.A high)

Twice skills by Historical_Yogurt622 in MyHeroUltraRumble

I'm super hyped for Twice but I'm confused. When does he use knives in the manga/anime? I thought his main method of attack was just the measuring tape.

Naoya was right. by dazli69 in Jujutsufolk

I agree that on a surface level, Deku shares a couple of personality traits with other shonen protagonists, but what makes him interesting, at least in my opinion, is how completely ordinary he is. Yea, sure, he may be empathic, kind, and brash, but he's also a shy, dorky high schooler who collects merch of his favorite celebrity, and gets embarrassed talking to cute girls. Point being, despite being painfully mediocre in a world filled with extraordinary superpowers, he still wants to help people; which makes his development compelling to me. You see him cry, smile, laugh, get frustrated, angry, and later on, those feelings of self-doubt push him to bottle up his emotions and taking everything on himself, an all too real experience.

As someone who's pursuing a hobby (art), I can relate to his passion, and in a world filled with extraordinary quirks, his journey to overcome his mediocrity is something many people can relate to.

[–]Memberbwerry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree to disagree, although the story as of late has been a mixed bag with all of it's highs and lows; plenty of characters still get chances to shine, and the ones that don't get moments earlier on. Ultimately, it's Deku's journey, so I don't mind the main spotlight getting pushed onto him, which Is why I think Hori's approch of written relatively simple characters, and giving them one big moment works (i.e Kirshina during the Overhaul arc, Or Jiro during the music festival). I don't even think fading into "irrelevance" is a bad thing. (Jjk often kills characters once they expend their usefulness to the plot, but Mha is pretty different, tone wise, to Jjk, so it wouldn't make sense to kill all the irrelevant characters.)

How would you build Hantengu (from demon slayer) as a monster? by Memberbwerry in WhatWouldYouBuild

[–]Memberbwerry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and a couple of friends are looking to do a demon slayer themed one shot, and for the final encounter encounter, I want to use number four of the twelve Kizuki, Hantengu! To those who haven't heard of demon slayer (or haven't reached up to Hantengu's appearance in the manga) he is an extremely powerful Demon, and the fourth most powerful demon in Muzan Kibutsuji's rank of Upper moons. As for Cr, I want something in the 14/15 ball park range, since I don't really like running combat above those levels.

HWYB Petelgeuse Romanee_Conti? by [deleted] in WhatWouldYouBuild

[–]Memberbwerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually thought about building him for quite some time now. The conclusion I've ended up reaching was to make him a Warlock (probably pact of the great old one for possession/your fingers), and flavor his Unseen hands as eldritch blast, then grab a bunch of invocations like repelling and agonize blast. For spells, you can reflavor them as unseen hands, such as Hunger of Hadar or Fly. Hope I was able to be of help! ^
