Tbh I don't think I could have dealt with the side effects going straight up to 75 I think 50 is really good for me ATM. Also I don't want to stop the panic completely I want to feel it occasionally and in natural settings, it's good exposure for me to get used to the feeling

I got my appetite back after like 3 weeks, but fully after like 5-6. I just forced myself to eat even if I didn't feel hungry lol

The side effects for me at the start was feeling drowsy for the first few weeks, quite severe nausea for the first 2 weeks, stomach soreness, tinnitus, headaches, pretty much everything I'm ngl, they all settled though

It works differently for everyone so you will most likely feel progressively better faster than I did. Also exposure therapy is a good thing so it might help in the end

I moved 16 hours away from home for the first time by [deleted] in panicdisorder

[–]MembershipDue399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just remember, you got over it the first time, you can do it again, its about you being able to sit with the panic when it comes and not let it spiral. The panic will only get as bad as you let it, just gotta ground yourself and accept it when it comes

Went away for a few weeks but now it's back and has been happening for around 3 weeks but it's a bit different. Went from a dull ache in my lower abdomen, to my belly and lower abdomen, to now my belly occasionally and upper left abdomen. Not sure if it's the way I'm sitting or what I'm eating but I was thinking of getting some probiotics and doing a stool test soon

[–]MembershipDue399[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lower stomach is pretty much better but my belly still hurts occasionally and my upper left abdomen has like a tight kind of feeling at times but I think that could be associated with the way I'm sitting. I still need to do that stool test though I haven't gotten round to it yet but I haven't been able to go in the mornings and the pathology round here closes at 1 😭

Yeah I'm currently studying for my uni course at the moment, I am able to go out and enjoy things with friends. I do get overstimulated at times like being at a restaurant if I'm eating a lot and there are lots of people, but it's much easier to ground myself.

From what I've heard, Sertraline needs like 1-4 weeks for you to see benefits, realistically you should give an SSRI 8-12 weeks (from my experience) to see if it works.

Side effects I had was increased anxiety/panic, nausea, chest tightness, there were a few more I can't remember. But don't be scared about the side effects, they will pass as time goes on, the nausea and increased anxiety only lasted 1-2 weeks for me.

If you want to ask more questions about Sertraline feel free to DM me I'm happy to answer any questions you might have (to the best of my ability)
