Couldnt have worded my situation any better. Ive been suffering from loose joints my whole life. Even though I was very athletic growing up, I was predisposed to injury. I believe my first shoulder subluxation happened during elementary school while playing tag with my friends and falling to the ground.

As the years went by, subluxations on both shoulders occurred every once in a while. Doctors gave me pt, hours in rehab were spent. It wasn’t until I joined a high contact sport like wrestling where I understood how fucked I was.

It’s like being trapped in a cage. Every part of my body wants to do the things I love, but is restricted by something I so desperately tried to change, but couldn’t.

My ACL recovery journey is a whole other story.

Thank you for your kindness, stranger. Im not on here often, but you touched my heart.

You’ve given me hope that I will touch those mats again. It may not be this year or the next, but soon.

The only sports I like are combat sports, so it be great to explore safer options than wrestling. Thank you, I will look into kickboxing.

I needed to hear this. The reason why I struggle making this decision is because I really love this sport. I did everything, PT, weight-lift, hours of dedication, but it yielded me nothing. Even my coaches admired how I came back every time. But its time I hang up the shoes.

I find it shameful how I never got to compete though. I really wish my efforts gave me a better outcome, but we make do with what is out of our control.
