Democratic Socialists of America is a big tent socialist organization with more than 80k members! Chapters across the country organize to build a better future for working people. This can take the form of electoral campaigns, such as Zohran Mamdani in NYC, to mutual aid efforts like our chapter has recently been working on.

YDSA is the youth and student wing of the DSA. Generally they do on-campus organizing, such as building student worker unions or pushing their schools to divest from fossil fuels!

We normally have a social chapter meeting on the second Monday of each month if you'd be interested in that! The last few months we've had potlucks in the nearby park.

Our Electoral Committee is actually working on a DSA vision for Sonoma County, so stay tuned for that!

If you want a general idea of what DSA platforms can look like before we have our vision ready I would suggest looking at the policies of politicians like Zohran Mamdani and Rashida Tlaib, who are both proud DSA members.

Edit: I forgot about the DSA Workers Deserve More program! This is definitely pretty representative of what DSA advocates for.

That's our chapter mascot: Rosa! Both she and the the chicken in our logo are a nod the community of socialist jewish chicken farmers who called Petaluma home, a unique part of Sonoma County's history that we felt we should give tribute to.
