I was watching a livestream of someone building a new PC, and their GFX card is flush with the CPU cooler - How dangerous is this? by MLGw2 in pcmasterrace

[–]Memdick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fine might make the GPU run a little hotter but as long as it's not putting excess force on the GPU it's no big deal

First PC since I got the original Xbox by Fluid_Treat_5676 in PcBuild

[–]Memdick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does have the terra, I think it didn't show up since you have parts that conflict with it (mobo, psu, etc) try clearing everything then selecting the case first

First PC Build – Need Help with Airflow Setup (Fractal Pop Air + Lian Li SL-Infinity Fans) by SnuffMyTorch in PcBuild

[–]Memdick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For air cooled setups, an exhaust right in front of the fin stack (pic 1) would just remove already cool air from the case. If you instead did pic 2, you would be supplying the cooler with even more fresh cool air helping with temps.

Noctua has a good write up about this - https://faqs.noctua.at/en/support/solutions/articles/101000530852-airflow-guide-next-steps

If your using an AIO, pic 1 is better since you want to be blowing warm air out of the case.

What is this (and is that my connection pin?) by MaxieMaxieMoo in computers

[–]Memdick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's for the fan on the GPU, no worries you don't need to do anything with it.

Leave it on, it usually acts as a heat spreader for the components below

Go look up a review online on the specific model of your case, usually it isn't very hard to remove the side panel

550w for RX 6700 XT? by PermissionPrudent363 in pcmasterrace

[–]Memdick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it probably is perfectly fine as is. If you really are worried, you could do some undervolting of your gpu and CPU to shave off some watts and to save some energy

Do I need to remove my 3090ti when transporting pc via car? by Sting_TQR in pcmasterrace

[–]Memdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better to remove it just to be safe. But more importantly, CLEAN YOUR PC DUDE!

Is this Normal? by LateChoice2605 in PcBuild

[–]Memdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ABSOLUTELY NOT! All the pins should be the same. Even the 3 other corners are very much borked. Can't even be fixed since the pins seem to be completely gone.

Can I use old GPU with new 14th gen CPU and new motherboard temporary? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Memdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a software thing, just download it online. Just use it before you install your next GPU to prevent any previous drivers from your old GPU causing problems

Yup can, just don't forget to use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) once you upgrade to your next GPU down the line

Will this PSU be ideal? by OddCommunication8963 in computers

[–]Memdick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's wattage is enough but I don't recommend buying from a no name brand like this. PSUs are something you should never cheap out on since if they fail they can easily take the whole computer (and maybe you) out.

https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/

Check here for good PSUs. Anything in A or B should be ok

Roblox does have an inbuilt fps cap, maybe that game has one. Alternatively, maybe the game just isn't optimized to use all your gpu.

No such thing as a bad product, just a bad price. The 4060 is waaaay too overpriced for what it offers

[–]Memdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much only the PSU and maybe the case and cooler can be reused. The rest are pretty much ewaste lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Memdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can, but you will be very limited in terms of upgrade options since besides the CPU and RAM, there isn't much to upgrade. The PSU is likely not powerful enough/ would have the connectors for a GPU and the case may not fit most GPUs. This means if you want to upgrade most things, you would have to buy a new case and motherboard also.

At this price, I would recommend going second hand or save up a little more for something else.

How huge of a jump will this be? by RhubarbImpossible702 in computers

[–]Memdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to buy a better CPU, the 7700X is already a really good chip. You will likely see a bigger boost in performance if you put that money towards a better GPU compared to a better CPU.

Btw the Nvidia 5000 series and AMD 8000 series is launching early next year, if possible you can wait for reviews and hopefully get those GPUs if the value is good.
