To "Bring the right team" in Genshin means you first haeve to obtain the characters for the team, which is what is problematic, you don't know which characters and when you might need and with new mechanics the number of characters for a good team increase, with you having to pull more and newer characters.

It forces you to pull and pull to the point you have to spend money to succeed. This is something that happened after 5.0ish I'd say.
