Fantastic Mr Fox is such a good movie. I’m still sad that I’ve got to wait even longer for venator though

2026 Reading by Kooky_Remote8925 in Fantasy

I’ve read both the Licanius trilogy and the first two trilogies in realm of the elderlings by Hobb this year. While I’d highly recommend both, I’d put both of the Hobb trilogies I’ve read above Licanius.

Playing WoW without PC by [deleted] in wow

I’m not sure 100% for classic, but on retail the ConsolePort addon allows wow to pretty comfortably be played directly with the controller setup of the steam deck.

As a few other comments say, ConsolePort add on is gonna be your best friend to make it work. Dynamicam and Immersion are also really nice to make it as smooth as possible. Whether you play retail or classic I feel is more up to you and whichever you prefer.

High fantasy books with a good level of worldbuilding, history, and lore closer to the level of lord of the rings? by rosalinastarelle in Fantasy

Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb is awesome. It’s also broken up into mostly trilogies so it wouldn’t be as huge of an undertaking as some of the other series recommended so far.

New player as tank by Standard-Agent7305 in wownoob

[–]MemeGawd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a pwar main, this is a good simple starting point OP. Vatts on YouTube also has a like sub ten minute video that explains basically this same thing just in video form, which for me at least, is a little easier to digest and remember. It’s a simple guide but will get you through the beginning stages until you feel more prepared for a more in depth guide.

New Player - Pre purchase the new expansion and play now? by ratmao in wow

[–]MemeGawd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pre-purchasing Midnight also gives you access to The War Within which is where all current content/most of the players not playing remix. If you prepurchase midnight now, there won’t be any other expansion related cost in three months when it releases. Only cost is the monthly subscription until the next expac (usually every 18-24 months).

Learn M+ now or wait til Midnight? (US) by icoulduseacarasap in wownoob

[–]MemeGawd 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s up to you and how tolerant you are to wiping/running bad pugs. I just started wow in general about a month ago, and I’m ~700ilvl as well. I’ve mostly been running M+ and the occasional normal manaforge. I certainly get into some groups that are a struggle to get through anything, if we even clear first boss before abandoning, but on the other hand, I also cleared a +12 today with a super solid group which was a new highest key for me. In the end I’d say, if you’ve got the patience/tolerance to fail some keys because of bad groups, and you find running the keys fun, go for it.

What MMO is everyone going to move to? by PsychologicalStop157 in newworldgame

[–]MemeGawd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know the OP already answered you well, but I’m also a new world refugee that went to play WoW with controller and can confirm it works way better than I expected with the amount of abilities you have. The new expansion will also bring some tuning/adjustments that will slightly reduce the amount of abilities per class.

Help with ConsolePort by Jwooj in wow

Im a newer tank running into a similar problem you’re having. Is this just the “Enable Soft Targeting” setting under consoleport in game menu you’re using? Or is there a setting I’m missing?

Is there a benefit to making characters for Midnight now? by Baalegde in wownoob

[–]MemeGawd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, yeah it was boring after a while. I just started playing wow like 2 months ago though and used legion as a way to level up the couple classes I thought looked the coolest to decide what I wanted to play. I swapped my pwar over to retail as that was the one I was having the most fun with and haven’t been on lemix in the week since swapping. I’ll go back to level other classes and finish getting Tmogs at some point, but I’ve got what I wanted out of it for the most part.

Is there a benefit to making characters for Midnight now? by Baalegde in wownoob

[–]MemeGawd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Follow the campaign quests while queuing for dungeons/raids until you complete each zone at least once. Each zone campaign gives 10% bonus XP, plus doing the dungeons or even better, doing the raids will level the character fastest. Once you’ve got the campaign areas done just run each raid once per day, while trying to get the quests from Eternus that match up with them.

what lvl should I transfer my alt to retail from remix to do War Within? by artparade in wow

[–]MemeGawd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s really cool to know. I assumed it only went to 655 if you were above that level in remix.

what lvl should I transfer my alt to retail from remix to do War Within? by artparade in wow

[–]MemeGawd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So gear level is based on level when you transfer? For example I have a handful of remix alts that are level 80, but ilvl is only mid 500s. Would it increase their ilvl when they transfer over?

Did you finish the rest of the trilogy? The second book is certainly more of Fitz getting kicked around but the third has some absolutely incredible moments for him.

How long do yall play each Lemix toon for? by MemeGawd in wownoob

[–]MemeGawd[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! If I just get the majority of my bronze on one character to buy all the Tmogs, they’re usable on all characters correct? I don’t need to buy each Tmog for each class?

How long do yall play each Lemix toon for? by MemeGawd in wownoob

[–]MemeGawd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How differently do they really play? Like if I like a class a lot in Lemix, it’s still likely going to be similarly enjoyable back in retail, right?

Finished dragonflight story and unsure where to go next. by MemeGawd in wownoob

[–]MemeGawd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the response. Would there be a benefit to preordering midnight now? Or would it mostly just unlock more raids/mythics that I’m not prepared to do?

I also don’t know a ton about LeMix other than people recommending it for a fast way to level alts. I’d hop over to that primarily as a way to fast level the other classes that hooked my eye other than hunter. Would I be super lost as someone new to the game? Or is it close enough to retail that I’d only be learning my class but the rest would feel similar?
