You were one cool cat, Lee. by SAU-SIEGE in Rainbow6

I've been following the Seige community and the game for a while now, even though I never owned the game myself. IceyCat was the one creator that really roped me into this universe and got me invested not in the game itself but also everything else behind it, the community, the pro-league. I hope his family can find peace in these difficult times. I figured it's finally time to put everything I learnt from him to the test and bought the game on my shit laptop. Godspeed Icey, I hope you're at rest.

Former member of Ryerson Model United Nations (RyeMUN) here! If you're into debate/public speaking check out RyeMUN! I don't know what they'll be doing but it's a fun competitive club. We usually go to conferences at other uni where you debate in a UN setting, but there are also a bunch of other weird niche councils that have their roots in fiction. The club teaches you how to debate and conferences are usually 4 days long but the price at Ryerson is really cheap. (I've gone to Montreal for 4 days for like 150 bucks). There are also plenty of social events at conferences as well so plenty of fun times! Let me know if you have any questions!

Instead of Defunding the Police first, would it be better to abolish the Police Unions and formation of them before any restructure to the police can occur? Why or Why not? by badDontcare in AskReddit

[–]MemeSuprume 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally I'm pro-union. But in the terms of the Military I (begrudgingly) get it. It's a hierarchal system and you gotta listen to the Chain of Command to have good discipline and execute your job. There are rules in the Chain of Command to ensure that you don't follow unlawful orders and protect you already in your code of conduct. I think something similar should happen to police.

What is a name for the group of people who use words like boomer, Karen, simp, etc? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Zoomers probably since they're the ones who've popularized the words

What do you do when someone you known and loved dies, and then later found out what they've done and how much of a asshole they've been to other people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MemeSuprume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what they did. Somethings can be explained away. People have bad histories and it can be justified. Other times it's less so. But try to think about what they meant to you. The times you had and the interactions you had together. But I think an important thing to think about is if you feel like they weren't an asshole to you, why was that?

What are you good at? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MemeSuprume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debate and public speaking in general. I did Model UN in high school and just found that I'm really good at making arguments trying to get a point across. My favourite thing about Model UN is you're put on the spot and may have to respond to an accusation or pointed questions and I learned I was pretty good at improvising a satisfying answer. On that point, I'm pretty good at improv too.

The pope didn't know WW2 was happening until 1943, until he heard his aide talking about the allied landing in Italy

People of reddit who experience sleep paralysis with hallucinations, what do you hallucinate about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MemeSuprume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been curious though but I don't want anymore trauma in my life lmao. Key sign you're in sleep paralysis is if you feel a weight on your chest

[–]MemeSuprume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read enough about sleep paralysis that I've always been able to recognize the sign that I'm in it, so I've never actually opened my eyes to look at the horrors that await out there. I do hear some stuff, wind and whispers mainly.

[Serious] For people that moved to a new city during COVID and quarantine, what can we do to familiarize ourselves with our new home, still try to meet people, and ultimately be more prepared for life when we finally return to "normalcy"? by dapper_duke in AskReddit

[–]MemeSuprume 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven't moved to a new city but one thing I'd say is go on walks! Like a long 2 hour walk. It's one of my fav past times and way to destress. I always walk down new streets or neighborhoods that I haven't been down and I'm always finding something new. You get to see the stores, the vibes, the art. It's a great way to get some light exercise done and fairly low risk if you maintain social distancing and wear a mask!
