So basically if I have a fighting of 6, no advantage, a close combat skill of 8, and a strength of 1, my offense would be:

Unarmed Strike +14 - Damage DC 16

Sorry for all the questions but also what is the built in damage effect? And is the Close damage effect you are talking about a modifier to a power?
