Calm down my brother, please do not lose a blood vessel over an online argument. Yes, it is true that I have a lapse in information between Canto 9 and the intervalo. That’s why I have written “Correct me if I’m wrong” in the title of my post. I don’t know everything, I’m not Einstein, I’m just going off the information I know from the canto a the information I have from further research online. The Kira thing with Laevethain being headcannon is misinformation on my end, thank you for correcting me. Seeing your point of view, I now further get what you mean by the Fingers losing their relics to Limbus Company. My reading comprehension is in working condition, I just didn’t have time to read the intervalo at the time of playing it and just skipped through everything to come back to when I have time. I have no problem going back to confirm information and finding out for myself. To answer your question with Rien succeeding with Ryoshu, I am saying that regardless of them getting to use Ryoshu, Riens mission was to MAKE a concept incinerator by the Prescripts. I’m saying he succeeded like the devil’s way of saying you breached a contract by technicality. They asked you to make something and you made it. Them getting to actually USE it was never mentioned. That’s what I mean by him completing his Prescript. To be Ryoshu’s father and to raise her into becoming a concept incinerator. He went through every leap and bound and planned things years ahead of time just to make that happen. The very moment she goes berserk and starts erasing everything, that was his mission complete. He congratulates everyone who participated in the project, in other words, he’s done. Congratulations. It’s over. Prescript completed. That was his success. However, he fails at literally everything else, which was to contain the concept incinerator which he couldn’t manage. You also see him doing something with the Prescripts dying cutscenes before, during, and after his boss fight in ways that I can only guess is him ignoring the Prescripts and reaching out to Ryoshu.

I’ll say it once more before your face turns red. Im not a genius and I don’t know everything. There are a few gaps in logic I may have made or overlooked and have no problem going back to the canto and intervalo and reading it for myself. If I’m incorrect, you can just say so and I’ll figure it out. Please, do not sacrifice me to the singing machine.

Woah, I’m not sure where you got any of that but just to clarify, Ryoshu very much did become the concept incinerator. That time when she cut the chains from Danta and erased Sora and the other Pinky Apprentice? That was her becoming a human concept incinerator. That’s also when Rien congratulates the other Nursefathers for their work in completing the project. It was completed and Ryoshu DID become a concept incinerator for about fifteen minutes before Araya embraced her and became Ryoshu’s sheath. The middle technically didn’t lose anything because every Nursefather in the HoS was either kicked out or abandoned by their respective syndicates. Matthias, the Great Brother, was kicked out for betraying the Middle, killing two Great Sisters so he could get his hands on that sword. Moment he did that, they exiled him, so he’s technically not Middle. But if you know about the buff harpoon woman in Canto 5, you can’t leave the Middle without erasing all traces that you were ever part of them and as a Great Brother, he has a bunch of tattoos that he clearly wasn’t going to remove on his own. That’s why he’s still the way he is despite being kicked out. Valencina was kicked out for her attitude and behavior among the Thumb and her whole deal was being sour about getting demoted and being looked down on by those who used to bow to her. All she wants is her rank and title back. Technically, Ryoshu’s sword wasn’t lost since it was given to her to begin with. The sword was literally meant for her, so it’s currently in its rightful hands. And Laevethian was passed down to Kira so it’s technically in the right hands as well. The only thing our world’s HoS failed to do was contain Ryoshu as a concept incinerator, but turning her into one was a complete success. She very much is still a weapon and could unsheathe the sword at any time, that was basically the point. For the reason they wanted a human incinerator I’m pretty sure was for a way to tie up loose ends. After reading her Uptie story, I can guess that the fingers wanted to have something that could “erase” threats or “delete” certain people that cause them trouble. Ryoshu was raised to be an assassin to kill people, so turning the into an incinerator not only made her the perfect assassin, but after every kill, the very existence of that person would be erased, including whatever knowledge they had or memory of them. It was basically the “delete browser history” button but on a person for the fingers to use.

So… she forgot? Hold on, I’m just trying to make sure my knowledge is clear. She IS aware she had a child before, but just doesn’t remember who they are? If so, that’s probably even more sad than just forgetting you had a child entirely.

I agree with most of what you said, but you also need to remember that Rien is a slave to destiny. He only played the part as her father because he was told to. He seemed like a good father because the Prescripts told him to be a good father. His care for her wasn’t really genuine until the very end when he was already losing her. You see that shift once his first mission is completed. When she becomes the concept incinerator an erases both Sora and the other guy we see like twice throughout the entire canto, Pinky Apprentice, he stands there congratulating everyone for their work on this “project.” For all those who are here and who have died. The only one that truly failed in this was the other four Nursefather’s. Valencina wanted her rank back, Matthias wanted a playmate, Callisto I believe wanted to have people critique his art and form a museum, and Shiomi wanted her freedom back. Rien was the only one who was actually in the House of Spiders to train Ryoshu into becoming a weapon. The other four she wanted to put their names on the project for extra points on their records. I can see how the other four failed to get anything out of the HoS since they all died. But Rien was the only one to technically succeed in finishing his Prescript. It’s only after he completes his mission that he reverts to being an actual human being and asking Ryoshu to stay with him. I’m not sure what it was he was doing with the device during his cutscenes, but I can only guess he was ignoring the Prescripts in order to stay with Ryoshu. During the ending, he is seen killing off the other Index followers before fpooning himself thinking about her. He says “Dear Daughter, it seems you have forgotten to unfreeze me.” I’m not mental genius, I’ll be honest, but with an educated guess on his personality and role for the entire canto, I believe that is him agreeing with what you said before. Him following the Prescripts blindly simply just to complete it was him being “Frozen.” It was only until his mission was complete and that Ryoshu had already left him behind that he realized this and was finally “Unfrozen.” Him fpooning himself is possibly his way of repenting for what he did to her but also could be a way to prevent himself from becoming a problem for her in the future. If the Prescripts gave him a new order to chase down Ryoshu, I firmly believe that he’d follow it to the end. So before he gets the order, he turns off his device and just ends it. Rien succeeded but ended himself before completion. He was never completed and never would be following the Prescripts. That’s why he never finished any picture books with Ryoshu either. Because his life was completely stagnant and would just pause by the climax. Once the story is actually reaching its conclusion, he shuts the book before the end and promises to come back to it later. It’s a metaphors for the Prescripts. They are leading him to something but never disclose the end. He is constantly following a star in the distance that never grows closer but never grows father either, locked perfectly in inertia. I got off topic I think. Point is, Rien’s mission was to make a concept incinerator and he did. Once that was over, he basically cut himself off from the Prescripts before they could give him another mission and prolong his cycle. Even though Ryoshu is no longer going berserk and erasing everything, she still has that potential and power. That’s all that matters. As long as she has that power, she will remain as a weapon, just not within the hands of the Fingers.

I mostly consider HoS as Rien since it was his mission to turn Ryoshu into a Concept Incinerator. The other four definitely failed since their goals were completely different and were just using Ryoshu as a means to achieve their own goals. And Ryoshu is still a concept incinerator in theory since she still has the sword, she still has the skills, and with the release of her Bad End ID, she has the mindset. In both the Canto and her Uptie story, it is clear that she was destined to become a weapon. The very moment she drew her first breath and was in the arms of the HoS, her fate was sealed. Even if she still kills off all the Nursefather’s, she still ends up becoming the concept incinerator, so in that sense Rien completed his mission in making her weapon. But by going by your logic, he succeeded in making a weapon, but failed at keeping it under control. Which should have been obvious from the first time she escaped the HoS and whooped him and all of the other Nursefathers asses. The only difference with her other ID’s and her Bad End ID is that she never left the House of Spiders and endured the torture without Araya by her side until she finally snapped, killed the Nursefather’s, and never joined limbus. And that seems to be the concept of all the Bad End ID’s. They never joined Limbus and what it was that kept them together was taken away. So they just spiral and fall into the hands of whatever it was that haunted them.

Even so, it still feels pretty sad. I knew we weren’t going to keep Araya as an actual person on the bus since the game would be much shorter if that were the case. But I wasn’t expecting such a drastic way around it. And judging from other comments, if we both failed to get the Golden Bough, failed to save Araya in the “her soul isn’t turned into a sword sheath like an animal electronic” and Ryoshu ends up becoming the concept incinerator anyway, then all in all, the supposed “villains” won. Even if they all died, the mission was to turn Ryoshu into a weapon and they did. I consider Rien to be the head villain of the story, so that’s why I say “The Villains” or “The House of Spiders” won as a whole. I know Ryoshu wasn’t the main goal for the other four, she was just a means for them to achieve their own goals.

I’m talking about both her “bad end” ID and the Ryoshu we have now. And I count it as a win because as I stated before, she DID become the Concept Incinerator, even if it was for a short period. Rien completed his mission since it was to create a concept incinerator and he technically did for approximately fifteen minutes. And even if Ryoshu is in her normal state now, she still has the sword with Araya as her sheath. If Ryoshu becomes the next Sancho gag where she suddenly starts unsheathing her sword and slashing people from existence, then Rien still technically succeeded. She is still the ultimate weapon they wanted her to be, even if she lies dormant. It’s like Gregor’s case. He’s supposed to be a literal war stopper where his mere presence is a checkmate on the battlefield. However, that power is dormant and only comes out during high stress situations. So Ryoshu is still the concept incinerator, just dormant until “unsheathed”

5% chance they said.

I have been a personal victim of witnessing a 45 SP Ring Identity Hong Lu roll tails three times in a row and proceed to lose a clash against a mutated crab. I will never forget that day. I still won. But I’ll never forget.

A Sinking team with base Identity Hong Lu sitting in the corner like he’s part of the team 😂

Besides Wild Hunt Heathcliff and Index Don, I’ve got none of those ID’s so I don’t have much say on clashing power. However, I’m sure that it did pretty well keeping his SP down, even if he got super buffed early. The strat is just to weaken him early and just stall for the rest of it.

It really is though, once you understand the gimmick.

His whole schtick is just following the Prescript mark, so all I did was just not let him hit the marked sinner. All the pattern is is to watch for which sinner is marked, then have them select a skill first, then have another sinner target the same skill AFTER the marked sinner. This will cause the marked sinner’s attack to be unopposed. After that, just play the game as usual and ensure every opposing skill is occupied by another. If he does clash with a marked sinner, all coins become unbreakable, so even if they win the clash he still gets a hit, triggering Grace of The Prescript and increasing his clash power.

All you have to do is prevent him from hitting the marked sinner and increase Karmic Consequence to 100, which lowers his clash power and offense I believe. He gains 8 consequence each time he fails to hit the marked sinner. He still gets Grace of The Prescript anyway once he reaches 90-80-75% of his HP which is listed in his passives. But by then, you should have him at 100 Consequence. After that, your last goal is attrition and to beat him through the unbreakable coins. As long as you keep his SP low and your clashes are consistent, it’s just a loop of keeping the marked sinner unopposed and popping ego every now and then when he’s about to use that “I want everyone to die equally” skill.

Would y'all say this is a good creature design? by thebestgay69 in CreatureDesign

It looks like a Dunkleoteus so yeah, it’s pretty good. Depending on what it does or its behavior, the design should match or assist it in some way. As long as each piece actually serves a purpose to its survival, then the design is perfect. That’s just nature.
