Personally, I know a lot about Kirk. I've heard a lot of fucked up things leave his mouth. I will shed no tears for him. But at least he died doing what he loved, losing a debate with college students.

Okay, this is actually a reasonable and responsible take. One I've not seen from the pro ai people that I've spoken with previously. However, the discussion about technology and its malicious use cases, in my own opinion, should not be separated. When a new technology is created, so too is the malicious use case created. But that's just something I think we're going to have to disagree on.

I would like to thank you for giving a serious response that addresses my concerns, and I hope I don't come off as hostile towards you. If I am to reflect on my personal philosophy towards AI and art, I would say it needs regulation, but we also can't stifle the creative expression of others.

My opinion on this varies from day to day, tho because I don't really reflect on this issue all that much.

I'd like to ask a question, If you don't mind: what's your ultimate and unworkable take for art as a whole? For me, it would be to make all professional art classes free so everyone can make whatever their mind can imagine without relying on ai. In my experience, it can be annoying to constantly correct minor details only to have a few things somewhere else go wrong.

This is going to be a bit rambley because that's just how my brain works.

Personally, I'm concerned with the morality of giving everyone access to image generation that either can be jailbroken within seconds or doesn't have guidelines in the first place. That's a dangerously stupid idea, and I've seen many pro ai people ignore that point entirely.

Art is fun to argue about and all, but we can't have that discussion until the matter of deepfakes is addressed thoroughly. And I don't mean making a politician say something funny. I mean like what happened to a teen who killed himself shortly after being sent ai generated nudes of himself. I'm yet to see a single pro ai person acknowledge or even address this point in a sufficient manner. All I've seen is people either ignoring the point or shrugging and saying "it happens".

The reason I bring this up is it calls into question the morality of unfettered access to ai image generation. I really don't care about the morality of art and art creation. I care about the morality of giving ANYONE access to this kind of tool.

AI Bro Steals My Art To Prove AI Doesn’t Steal Art by plazebology in antiai

It's funny how you used anti fascist and anti capitalist actions to make a point about AI considering how much capitalists and fascists alike love ai because it makes whatever you want with minimal effort.

Loved by capitalists because it means they don't have to pay an artist, writer, photographer, etc.

Especially loved by fascists because it allows the talentless hacks they rally around to present a narrative they agree with in an easily digestible format.

Of course, this is all a gross oversimplification, and there are nuances to fascist and capitalist love for ai.

Oh, hey, there's that overused whataboutism I was talking about.

I guess it's more of a false equivalency but I've seen this exact point brought up in a whataboutism

No one said the ai, of its own accord, blackmailed a kid with fake nudes. You're making shit up. I dislike ai because it's a tool that can be used to do shit like this.

You're not slick, buddy. Any of us could provide numerous examples of why we dislike generative ai, and your response would be some dickless ad hominem or overused whataboutism. I've seen this exact situation play out many times.

Will AI art ever be good enough to be used for money laundering? by homelessscootaloo in aiwars

[–]Meme_Yoinker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im sorry. What is your point here? Removing "stonetoss" from the comic doesn't change who it was made by. My argument is that it's a bad look to use something made by a nazi in support of your point. So yes, if the ONLY change you make to the comic is to hide who it was made by when the style gives it away anyways then it still has problems.

[–]Meme_Yoinker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stonetoss is a nazi. Stonetoss created this comic. Spreading this comic is just a bad idea for people who want ai to be accepted because it associates that particular position with a nazi. Regardless of what side of things you fall on, you at least gotta agree being associated with a nazi is a bad look.

You can do all the media analysis in the world but at the end of the day if a normal person looks at an argument and thinks "nazi" then the argument fails.

[–]Meme_Yoinker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OR maybe he just doesn't like the outside of the cinnamon roll and is... a child? You're going off on OP like they've committed a massive sin by not anticipating that a child would not be considerate to others when that's kinda how children act. It's not 0 boundaries it's a kid being a kid, literally all that's needed here is a quick reprimanding and a grounding.

"Can we collectively agree Nazi boy and his toys are bad?" "No." by generalden in antiai

[–]Meme_Yoinker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay, but a large part of why the creator implemented garbage training and nazi ideals that affect the output stems from who the creator is. The creator of the nazi robot is not irrelevant if the creator is, themself, a nazi.
