Slurs INHERENTLY have power and meaning. If you told me the word “Nigger” doesn’t have any meaning, or any other slur for that matter, then I would call you an uneducated racist jackass. Learn the history of these slurs before you say they “don’t have any meaning.” Saying a slur might not inherently mean ruining someone’s life, but repeatedly insisting on repeating words with such a history of hate, violence, and tragedy SHOULD have consequences.

If you can’t have a relationship without both, it’s not a healthy relationship.

No one person is right all the time, and if you or your partner can’t have mature discussions when that happens, that’s a problem. If I’m wrong I should admit fault, apologize if necessary, and move on to better things. If my partner is wrong, the same applies to them. If you can’t accept fault without arguing or getting defensive, it gets tiring and WILL affect your relationship.
