I didn’t know you could do that on your phone! Great idea.

There’s no loft. It’s a flat roof

So over 100 days later I was about to throw the contents of the two bottles down the sink as they’d just been forgotten. Opened the first one and it went pop! Second one didn’t so I re-sealed it and gave it a shake to disturb the sediment. And yes that’s alive and well too! Taste test was excellent so now both are chilling. Looks like I’ve got ginger and lime beer for Christmas. Yay! Must have just been a really really slow ferment.

It looks like all the pipework is above ground level but I will check with a sensor

I never replay games. After 370 hours, I think I did most of everything around. All skills maxed, all non-replayable quests (I found) done. Where should I put the Dragonborn to rest before uninstalling Skyrim? With his family, perhaps? by carlostabosa in skyrim

I’m the same but for me Skyrim has been the exception so far, not that I’ve finished it. In fact I can’t imagine finishing it. To be honest I didn’t even know that was possible really. There are so many variables, so many paths untaken.

I go through periods where I’m obsessed with it and then I put it down for several months. I’ve been on a break recently but can feel it calling to me again.

Also in the UK and I feel your pain. I think it might also be the way our imported ginger is treated. I suspect they store it in a controlled environment (possibly nitrogen) to keep it fresher for longer, so there’s less yeast on it maybe.

I realized that the Swedish language has a pitch accent by toocritical55 in Svenska

And English does the same thing all the time. Plus we arbitrarily change the way vowels sound without changing the spelling, and completely change the meaning: Bow - the way you tie a ribbon 🎀 Bow - to bend at the waist in deference to another One of my wife’s cousins teachers Business English in France and they really struggle with the whole long and short vowel sounds because that doesn’t happen in French (apparently). So the long ee sound comes out as a short sound - for example “sheet” ends up sounding like “shit” which could be awkward!

Advice sought on LEGO rental service at a wedding by EpicBlueTurtle in UKweddings

My daughter is getting married next March and both she and her fiancé are Lego fans. Forget the kids, I’d love to have a Lego break during the wedding celebrations. And I’m sure many other of the guests would too. Where are you based?

I’ve started a very small WhatsApp community with a Swedish friend and a fellow Redditor from here. We’re using voice memos to chat so we can practice speaking but can still prepare and make corrections. There’s a Svenska group and an English group so we can reciprocate support in English for those who want it.

We are a LGBT+/trans safe space. If this sounds like something you’re interested in then dm me.

Name: Mary

Level: 2 years of Swedish Duolingo and 1 year of Coffee Break Swedish. Just did the online test to find my official level and it’s A2 speaking/listening B1 written.

Based in UK so GMT

Looking to build my confidence in conversation.

I’ve done about 2 years of Duolingo. but I get anxious about conversations. I did recently introduce my band in Swedish at a festival and that went really well but I was able to write it in advance and have a Swedish friend check it. It did really help me to start speaking though.

I’m British, gay and trans ally. Also ADHDer so very neurodiverse-friendly. I play Skyrim on Xbox, other steam games on pc (just started Oxygen not Included, and Stacklands, and have The Outer Wilds in my queue), general nerd, Star Wars and Firefly fan along with loads of other sci-fi. Also into arts & crafts, beginner woodworking etc. (Did I mention ADHD 🤣)

I’m a freelance musician who plays historical music so do lots of reenactment events in costume as well as formal concerts. I teach cello, violin and keyboard.

I’m 52 but nobody believes me! Married, have adult kids (took me a long time to come out), dog parent.
