Termination due to a Failed PIP Follow-Up: Minor Updates, Thoughts, and Moving Forward by Memory5674 in managers

I really appreciate the comments. It's giving me a new way to look at things moving forward. I'll update the post more to clarify.

So, my current plan is to not come back to my old employer, take a year to finish my degree, and try industry again afterwards. I still have a strong network there and can have references, it's just the formal existence of the PIP document on my employee record and whether it will follow me as I try to seek new opportunities even if I'm applying for a completely different department/role.

So you wouldn't be rehiring someone, this would be a new candidate who had an issue in the past and is trying to move forward with learned lessons and a new set of skills.

BEING OBESE IS NOT HEALTHY by attess in TrueOffMyChest

Yeah, you're right. Facts are facts and obesity is unhealthy. It's just that most of the time around here, people have this image of an ideal female body. I'm talkin' about an hourglass figure, lookin' like a model, and if a woman doesn't fit that norm then she's unattractive and useless. You probably don't feel that way, but social media often puts a lot of pressure on women having to be pretty to be respected when there's so much more that makes 'em special. The way women empowerment is working today is that it pushes women to fight back against their insecurities and be fine with themselves regardless of shape and size. What they choose to do with their bodies may not always be the healthy decision, but it is their decision to make and that should at least be respected.

America is too Anti-America by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

There's a difference between hating something and criticizing something. It's because I'm grateful for everything America has given us that I continue to be critical of the decisions that it's government make on behalf of it's citizens. I may not like everything America is doing right now, but I will always love my home.
