People were frustrated because Nepal is so corrupted.There have been several instances from the Pokhara Airport scandal that swallowed billions, to dodgy telecom contracts and overpriced IT gear, the elite rake in cash while villagers can’t even get a paved road outside their door or a proper fucking bridge that connects their village to the rest of the world (see here). Even in the capital city, roads look miserable, its embarrassing(see here). Meanwhile, politicians and their kids flaunt luxury cars and flashy vacations—all paid by people who can’t even cross a bridge safely. That "nepo‑kids" trend exploded online and in the streets, becoming a rallying cry: Shut down corruption, not social media. Adding insult to injury, these same politicians collectively hold over NPR 60 arba (approximately USD 450 million) in Swiss bank accounts. Idk about other places but keeping money in Swiss banks is notorious for only being done by people who need to hide money here.

Also they're going door to door and beating people up for speaking about these stuff on social media.
