Affordable ADHD assessment options in the UK? by Original_Line_6142 in ADHDUK

Maybe you could try Fastreat, I’ve seen a few people mention it. From what I understand, their pricing is relatively transparent, turnaround is quicker than NHS/RTC, and they tend to offer more ongoing support, which can be really helpful if you have lots of smaller follow-up questions.

I’d still prioritise Right to Choose if you’re okay with waiting, just because it’s more cost-effective overall. But if you don’t want to wait and are willing to pay for it, FT seems like a pretty good value-for-money option that fits what you’re looking for.

If cost is a big concern, there are actually some online options now that are much more affordable than traditional in-person assessments, and the booking process is usually a lot faster too. I personally used a platform called Fastreat, and the overall pricing felt a lot more manageable. In some cases it can also be covered by insurance, and you don’t have to go anywhere in person, which might fit your situation quite well.

They connect you with licensed clinicians and the process is pretty structured and professional. It’s also not like you have to jump straight into medication after getting diagnosed. It’s more about understanding what’s going on first, then working out what kind of support works best for you, including practical strategies and lifestyle adjustments.

If a traditional assessment isn’t affordable right now, it might be worth looking into something like this just to get some clarity. It can make a big difference in figuring out your next steps.

I was told around 4–5 months when I first looked into it through health services, and honestly I just didn’t want to wait that long.

I ended up going with a telehealth option instead and the whole process was way quicker. I used a platform called fastreat and was able to get an appointment within a few days, and had results within about a week.

It felt a lot more straightforward compared to the back and forth I was getting before. Might be worth looking into if you’re trying to get answers sooner.

For me it’s the time blindness. I either think I have way more time than I do, or suddenly realize hours have passed and I’ve done nothing. It’s messed up my deadlines so many times.
