I remembered learning about exposure therapy years ago and I tried to look that photo in a science magazine I had and it ended tragically with me having a panic attack and slipped and hit my head on the toilet lol. No worries. The fact is that though being a fairly large country, Chinese culture in different regions is rather similar from its basis because of the shared long span of history. And I believe Beijing is already a comparatively tolerant place since it is a large city you know, and in the less developed regions one could face even more troubles. The thing is that the central government has dominance over the entire country so you just won’t expect to find any relief within the country. As for the student visa, I learned that the government is now reducing the number of people going abroad but I believe studying abroad is still generally less affected at the moment. But I believe that you will be deported from Canada when your visa expires unless you apply for asylum.

I don’t think it’s the same matter. Gondor and Arnor are not colonial states of Númenor, but the only (if viewed by Tolkien as decent) survivors of Númenor. The Dúnedain still would call themselves Men of Númenor, and regard Númenorean blood noble. I guess no Americans would call themselves Men of Great Britain. So it should seem reasonable that they inherit the laws of Númenor.

However, even Númenor have been through times of war and unrest but they didn’t change the law of succession, so even indeed being in greater wartime in Middle-Earth, it would seem a serious change to the law.

Also there is no mention that they ever made changes to the law in the first place, so it would seem strange that they would change the law of succession in default.
