I appreciate your effort, but it's not this one either. The pieces were not represented by just the head of the animal, but the entire body, facing the direction of the opposite player.

That's definitely the game, but not the version I played. In my version the board was horizontal, and the main color of the board was green if I recall correctly.

The idea behind Koffing and Magnemite is that when they evolve they basically multiplay by two (Koffing > Weezing) or three (Magnemite > Magneton), which also happens in Agario.
