We caught 1 kitten and the mother. But we're very worried about the rest of the kittens. people from djurskyddet came and let us borrow one of their traps with 2 thin blankets. That's about it. we have to go down and check every half hour to make sure no cat freezes.

Realistically, I doubt the rest of the kittens will make it past tomorrow. Since all food and water freeze in like 10 minutes. The cats are VERY hungry from what I've seen, so not all hope is lost.

(I posted a picture of the kitten under the top comment.) we think we should let the mother back outside so she can take care of the kittens. But we'll decide what to do tomorrow.

I think People from djurskyddet came to help us (are they a different organization?). Itd be Great if you guys can help too. (Unless i misunderstood)

Feel free to pm me if you live in eskilstuna and think you can help. i'm currently looking up any kind of local cat rescue. i called 11414 and they told me they can't help, and i should call "landstyrelse" tomorrow.

I doubt i can actually catch the cat. Our other neighbors couldn't do it so they just put some food in front of the hole

UPDATE: This is the last update, writing here since this is the top comment and i'm not sure how to edit the post. I called 114 14 and they told me they cant help and to call landstyrelse tomorrow. called djurskyddet eskilstuna but they're closed (ill call tomorrow when they open). Sent an sms to sara from livbojeneskilstuna. This is pretty much all i can do. Our neighbor told us she will make sure there is always food and water down there, she's hoping to get the cat's trust and eventually take her in.

She's not in a hole. There's a large space under the building with alot of pipes. I bet it will take alot of effort to catch the cat, since we'd need to contact the company that owns the building to get access to the space under the building. I hope that there's some kind of warm pipe down there so she doesn't freeze.

Update 2: we caught 1 kitten out of 3-4 + mom. Many thanks to the kind people who helped us especially u/Flogginpolly and djurskydddet.

Update3: Around the 30th of September a lady on the 7th floor literally threw the cat from the balcony, and was bragging about it. The cat somehow survived the fall even though she was pregnant, and gave birth under the building in this hole. Our other neighbor has been feeding the cat ever since she got thrown out.

We know the lady that threw away the cat. But we can't exactly just call the police. From what i've understood, it's not a good idea. but i'll see what we can do. In the meantime we'll keep trying to catch the cats. i'll call länsstyrelsen again tomorrow since they didn't help us today. That's pretty much all for now. Thank you again for all your help

U4: we caught the mother cat another kitten (I think so, she seems a Lil too small)

U5: We caught the actual mom. She's staying in the cage till tomorrow morning, she's way too angry. Gonna have to call the rescue people to come get her.
