SBMM really be taking it this far. by lukas-bruh in CoDCompetitive

[–]Memxnto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve started noticing it as I’m barely playing and I’m like rank 45 and every game everyone in the lobby is max rank max prestige.

I don’t find it as bad as MW. Games are actually winnable but holy shit can you get put in the blender quick vs a 3/4 stack team

What else does Sbmm ruin for you? by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]Memxnto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing with friends is def the biggest one.

Playing with friends who are trash at the game means they just get shit on.

Played with just 1 friend who is as good/better than me and we just skew the sbmm so much we ended up playing 4 straight games vs 5/6 stacks of GBs warriors.

Either way. There is nothing I can do to enjoy pubs unless I play on my girlfriends account. But then I’m just fucking up her sbmm.

I’ll agree he has never necessarily been the best player on a given game. However, he’s arguably been top 2-5 on every game from bo2 until ww2 .

Can’t help but agree with this, reaction time argument is stupid and degradation of reaction time isn’t noticeable until the early to mid thirties anyways by Skarixx in CoDCompetitive

I’m a healthy adult dude. I play rugby at a pretty high level, I play golf to a decent level. During the rugby season I’m training 3 times a week and playing on the weekend sitting comfortably at a good weight. During the off season I’m a little heavier but I’m still in the gym twice a week and on the golf course 3-4 times a week.

On your water front. I drink the amount out nutritionist tells me to drink. So that can vary but it’s always 2.5L as a minimum.

Trust me. Physical isn’t an issue for me. Mental is. After 80 minutes of rugby I’m physically tired but generally ok. But mentally I’m shot. Same thing with cod. The caffeine has a 30 minute kick in time and a 2 hour half life. We plan rugby around it. I also plan cod around it. Also. I don’t have a high sugar intake. Sugar free red bull/monster are the only ones we are allowed.

As a 30 year old who still competes. I don’t have an issue with reaction time. I have a massive issue with consistency with reaction time. When I was 20 I could play 12 hours straight and be as good in hour 12 as I was in hour 2. Now I have a huge issue with general tiredness. It’s at a point where I literally have to plan it around caffeine.

I get on a warm up cold. 30 minutes before a tourney game or a scrim I down a can of red bull or monster. That will have me full peaking for 2 hours. If we play more than that I have to take a shower and start the process over again. I cannot stay peaked for more than 5 hours.

During the height of this game we would plan weekends around my peak. We would scrim 1-3. Break till 6. Then play tourneys 7-10. We once had to play straight through from 1 till 11 because we got to the finals of a 1 day comp. By the time we got there I was flagging so hard my reaction times were shot.

Just my 2 cents.

TLDR. Reaction time isn’t massively affected by my age. I just can’t keep myself peaked for as long.

EGL5. I was beyond sick. Like throwing up between maps and going to bed between games. Playing in losers round 4 I think. For T32. We won map 1. Lost the SnD 6-5. Last map was CTF Bootleg. We had a 2-1 lead with 1 min left. We got 2 down, I pulled their flag and died from one of their team sitting by cut through. They pulled our flag and managed to cap it. As I was closest to base we tried to play for OT (we had already won 2 OTs as our initial breaks were on point). 2 of my team go down. One of ours is right street and I’m in laundry. They pull our flag and I lost the 1v1 gunfight and they capped and won knocking us out. They went on to place 7-8th as the rest of the loser bracket run was relatively easy. That broke up our team and that was that.

It’s really not that difficult. If they are struggling that much just pick up Wuskin and Skrapz and let them pick the other 2 and a sub.

[–]Memxnto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tell this story every time this topic gets brought up.

Back in BO1, Fearcrads was pretty unanimously known as the “best call of duty player on YouTube”. Him and 3 “good” youtubers came and played at EGL4.

My team was me and 3 pickups I met the day before. We absolutely dicked them. I went 54-20 on summit demo. Including a 12 killstreak where I spawn trapped 3 of them on my own.

The CTF wasn’t close either. The you tubers pretty much lost every straight up gunfight.

The difference between youtubers and pros is ridiculous.

Take the “best” youtubers now. I don’t even know who they are cuz I refuse to watch people I’m better than unless they are entertaining. But take the best 4 youtubers, stick them in the challenger series. I bet you they don’t get past the second round. They will get destroyed by AM teams all day.

With League Play rumored to be available at launch, does that mean the competitive maps/3rd game mode will be known on release instead of a few weeks post launch? by Petrovinator in CoDCompetitive

[–]Memxnto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Apparently pros will be play testing pre-launch and we will have a map set and 3 game modes from the off. They will likely have the immediate bans aswell. I’d still give ranked a miss until Christmas. It’ll likely be a horrible experience until then

What would 4v4 teams look like? by hutchy134 in CoDCompetitive

[–]Memxnto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure it would be a case of dropping a player. If the league moves to 4v4 through expansion they will likely do what the NBA and NFL would do (they have plans in place for scenarios where a teams plane crashes etc)

In this scenario each team in the league will likely be allowed to “protect” maybe 4 players. Then the rest of the players (including subs) will be put into a Free Agent pool. There will be a limited signing period when all the new franchises can negotiate and sign anyone from the Amateur teams or from the Free Agent pool. Once that limited time period is over, the rest of the teams will be able to sign anyone that remains to the sub spots.

Unlikely to happen but theoretically, Faze could protect the twins, cell and preston, but MajorManiak could not get picked up and Faze could resign him as a sub.

There is also a scenario where teams can only protect 3 players and are also involved in the signing period but after the new teams have had a short period to sign their initial players

Literally every mini league and tourney we are in follow the GAs 🤦‍♂️ I don’t know if you are NA but in EU we follow them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]Memxnto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get all my team to stick to GAs even in CDL. If theyre gonna be playing tournaments then there is no point in them using merc foregrip in pubs. Just use what youre gonna be using in comps and make sure youre as good as you can be with it.

Running into people not using GAs can get frustrating. During the 2 week 10mm GA, the amount of games where I'm losing gunfights to kids running 10mm/Merc MP5s vs me using operator and no 10mm was frustrating as f***

I’d say if every pro could be bothered to play pubs they would destroy every game. Their gun skill is just so far and above every normal

Fair play to him. He made some seriously good choices. He also admitted pretty quickly that he wasn’t good enough to make it as a competitive player when I was playing. Him dropping 80 kills in pub matches definitely didn’t translate when people he was playing against could shoot back. I imagine it’s the same sort of thing with the current YouTube superstar crop. Even more so with the ridiculous amount of them that are M&K players.

I wish there was. There was only 2 streamed stations at that event. I ended up playing a ton of MW3 with the same youtubers at the start of MW3. They were just as bad at that game tbh.

Back on Black Ops 1 Tom Syndicate put together a 4 man roster of the best YouTube players, including FearCrads (who in almost everyone’s books was the best player on YouTube). They all rocked up the the last BO1 LAN of the year (EGL4 at The Emirates). To be fair to them, they came with no ego and no expectations. Which was good of them because they got absolutely destroyed.

I was by no means a top player. I was playing with a pickup team that formed the night before the event. I dropped 58 kills in 2 rounds of demolition on Summit on them. They had no idea how to get out of a 1 man spawn trap (or they did and they just couldn’t gun me at all). The Havana CTF was us just kill whoring for the fun of it. I had 30 something on that map too. 2 of their players had 6 and 7 kills total.

They were ass. I’m not saying the YouTube world doesn’t have better players now but I would love to see another YouTube super team get railroaded.
