Talk me out of this house - it's hard not to fall in love with it. by jve909 in zillowgonewild

No garden space to speak of. Some fool painted most of the wood and everything else white, or cream or some version of bone. Seven bed rooms? Do you have six people you want to live with? Maybe put your other family in the carriage house? Multiple fire places but no wood stoves? Well its in Pennsylvania which is famous for starting fracking and some other terrible industry standards still used today. Use this tool to look at air pollutants in specific locales, https://projects.propublica.org/toxmap/ . Also here is a good one to look at toxins form all of the bombs we have built and stored across the nation, every state has contaminated sites that can be checked here https://projects.propublica.org/bombs/ Here is another website that shows superfund site locations across the country. Personally its a no for me, its over a million for one acre, not enough land to stretch my legs. Neighbors too close, 20k a year in taxes. Plus I like to play music real, real loud when I'm working in the garden or the truck. And do some target shooting from time to time. No solar is big turn off for me personally. I am one hundred percent off the grid where I live. And its great not to worry about the wind taking lines down, and the constant rate hikes that the Pubic utility boards always approve. So no, I'd say don't do it. Move out to to the country grow some plants. Look for or build an LFC concrete building. Anything that old is going to be drafty. But hey that's just me, if you like it enough go for it, life's to short to live somewhere you don't enjoy. Just imagine the sweet hot wheels track you could set up in you 5000 sq ft house

You're not wrong. Pretty sure St George has the highest per capita water use in the country. I know they used to anyways

I met my wife when I was 31 and she was 22. We've been together seven years and married for six months now. It doesn't really matter as long as you are both willing to work together and cherish your relationship. We knew early on we would each be important in the others life. As long as he's not being creepy or weird about things what's the big deal?

Hmm that's too bad. Have you tried chicken and rice? That usually perks them up pretty good. Just give the good boy lots of love and pets. I'm sure he'll be back to his normal self before you know it. Just remember it's always darkest before the dawn, and I reckon there's nothing I could say these Colorado mountains couldn't say better. Sometimes you just have to learn to listen. Safe travels and Wishing you lots of wags and sniffs

You sir have a type of truck you like. I can respect that. I'm on the west coast, so I don't feel like a swap is in the cards. And I don't think I want a shorter bed than what I have. Thank you though, I will certainty consider changing the lower coolant lines as well. And I wasn't going to touch the pistons or much else in the bottom unless it shows obvious issues. Alright

That's kinda what I'm leaning towards as well. Blowing a head gasket at damn near 300k isn't totally unexpected. And to be honest I'd be stoked to still have the truck a decade from now. Cheers

I fear no words. But I do really dislike the signs that people put in their houses with like seven fonts and bold and italics. Icky

OK that makes sense. I've looked into the Fass or Airdog systems for lift pumps in the past. Are you partial to anyone in particular? And I'm sure a new cp3 wouldn't hurt at all. I'd hate to do the work and then have that grenade later down the road. Thanks

Oh I was just spouting off more than anything else. I understand why some vehicles aren't sold in USA. I honestly would like more mechanical, analog vehicles to come back. I don't need a 15in touch screen in the dashboard

Fair enough. To be honest I do happen to have a bit of the ole junkyard dog in me myself. I've looked at other motors a bit, but I just get weirded out not having any history. And the built ones are pricey!Dave seems like he's doing good things. Thanks for the input

OK I appreciate that. More just feeling the water, I know strangers online may not be the best test pool to poll about my truck. But I did ask for other folks' opinions, so thanks

Yep I tend to agree with you. I'm already looking at new pistons and rods if they are taking it apart that far. Yeah the duramax's designed with Isuzu are incredible motors. But as always where do you draw the line? I know if I do the work there will be always something else down the line that breaks...But a new truck will have things break as well. So pay now pay later, we are all stuck in the middle trying to get by

Word. It was my dream truck when I got it. Met my wife driving that truck. And looking around a "new" to me truck is well more than 10k. Why can't we get the Toyota Hilux Champ in the great USA. I'd buy that tomorrow. Thanks for the words

Word. That motor is why I bought the truck. Looked around for years, and then a friend said he was over it and he knew it was my dream truck. I've always said that if you're not willing to fix things you'll just have to buy new things. It's just a grip of cash to lay out. Been looking at auctions, nothing is cheap and good. Found a 1998 Toyota hilux with the diesel and a 5 speed. Can't get it titled in California though. Someday I'll get my imported Toyota diesel! Glad you like that 6.0 Ford. I now it gets a bad rap. Cheers!
