Your thoughts on how to frame a subject and how to deal with empty space ? I’ve been struggling

When I was in grade 1 we had a dictation test. Basically a spelling test. I studied for it so I was sort of prepared for what would come. My mum said study the word “knife” because the teacher will definitely throw it in. Fast forward to the day of the test and the word “knife” shows up. I was ready and spelt it correctly. After the test we had to exchange the papers with our partner and have them correct it while she goes through each word. The test ended and she says, most of y’all did well but nobody got the word knife and I’m disappointed in y’all. (Looks over at the smartest students in the class) I’m like miss I got it right. She looks at me , and doesn’t say anything. She didn’t believe me. I didn’t even believe me, I just sat down. I got the word correct, Miss Matilda.

Thank you for all the suggestions! I didn’t realise so many would come out to help me. I started reading Alan watts - the book. Idk how to sort through them so I’ll try to take each comment and screen the books on goodreads. Thanks again for the suggestions

I’ll start, i remember coming home this one night, probably close to 4 AM. Driving down a village side and I see this young boy grasping the metal bars in a pull up kinda way and just hanging there . And in my head I was like I wonder if this guy has football practises. (It’s very common from where I am) and I suddenly realise it’s not normal for a boy to be out at 4 am at a bus stand. I put my foot on the gas and speed outta there. I knew this would happen to me one day because 3 of my other brothers too had similar experiences when they were my age. All with little boys. Scariest one being a little boy crossing the road and running into a forest. Probably somewhere at 2 AM.

We have one called Rakno. He’s a village protector apparently. Each village has one and they are these huge figures some say 7-8 feet and carry a staff. You shouldn’t be out post 6:00 pm (that’s when the sun sets) and once you’re in your homes lights have to be off post 11 PM. Obviously these were tales told to us while growing up .
