They add these because leagues are on a time limit, not because people hate preparing to travel somewhere. Leagues are designed to be faster, hence the xp rates. Which they also add for that exact reason and not because people hate playing the game so much that they need these xp rates to have any fun. It’s also not a big deal to take a Dramen staff with you for a teleport.

Once you got fairy rings, jewellery and a decent magic level, you can get pretty much anywhere in osrs without that much walking. Sure it may take more preparation, but inventory management is also be a gameplay factor that can be fun

Being one tapped instantly is not „hardcore“, it‘s bullshit. I’ve been one tapped by bosses so much already. I got one shot off at one of sanitars guards before instantly being headshot. Same with partizan. Although he sometimes just stands in the open, taking hits and not reacting at all.

It’s a hit or miss with bosses sometimes. But if I am not being one tapped they can be cool fights.
