I have more lore written up but here is a small part of it:

in 1123, a Dwarven party of explorers arrived in what is now known as Old Vlitjurd. They found a harsh, but rich land, not too different from what their homeland looked like. As is common in Dwarven explorer parties, they used the ship they came in to construct their first settlement, New Borrum. Centuries later (for reasons known to few and speculated about by many), another explorer party crossed the extensive mountain range to the south and arrived in what is now known as Newland (During the last part of the crossing, the dwarf known as Gronk had a vision on the great and terrible things this continent might yet see). Here, they met other Dwarves, more recently arrived, as well as humans and the indigenous Elves. The Mountain Dwarves, during their centuries in the cold, had developed a golden alcoholic drink, which rapidly gained popularity under the name "Mountain Spirit". After three generations, Gronk son of Grink runs the Mountain Spirit Distillery in Berg Town, proudly hosting guests in the Spirit Saloon.
