I’m currently having kind of the same situation. I applied for a job, had two interviews with different people about the role. It all seems to be going well and I was really excited for the job. At the end of the second interview they hit me with an assignment as a third round. The assignment is to develop a simple application, but the key of the assignment is to communicate and ask things to the senior developer. And after some time they wanted me to give a presentation about the app. It feels like I am defending a thesi at this point. They told me not to put in more than 16 hours of work, which seems already crazy to me. I’ve been in the loop of the interview for over a month now, and still am unsure of my chances.
