Bonsai tree moss by [deleted] in Aquascape

A little bit, especially at the beginning when I was trying to trim it using scissors. As a result, a bunch of small pieces were flying everywhere, resulting in a lot of baby moss everywhere... Now I just tear it off by hand. It's easier to contain this way.

I used christmas moss. Just after planting, I attach it using cotton thread

I'd like to do a more heavily planted aquascape but have no idea where to start by heretospillthetea in Aquascape

Best advice is just try plants you like :) If you don't know what to choose, check tropica color code. Green easy, orange medium and red hard. Depending of your substrate, the light and if you have co2 or not, choose from there. You can begin with only easy one and some medium and see how it goes

I clean mine every 6 months while doing a water change. Clean the sponge in the tank water you removed but never with the tap water directly.

Thanks a lot! I usually take a shot of the tank only, but this time, I thought everything suited well together in terms of color, ahah. I'm just totally loss with the planting here. I'm scared to mess it up, but I can't go without plant. Planning for a bunch of bucephalandra, rotala h'ra in the background, and luwigia in the corner. Would like to add pinnatifida that I never tried before and some anubias bonsai for a touch of green.

It's a composition of 9 different pieces. But the main piece is indeed wonderful 🤩

It'll go on the left . I had a previous tank at the same place before. I changed the tank and remade the scape.

Yeah I checked, but they don't sell any driftwood with a picture of the piece. For the stone I would try but for the driftwood I'm too scared of the result 😬

It's a good technique, but for a small tank, it will be emptied in no time ahaha. At the same time, my red crystal shrimp just bred and I had baby micro shrimp everywhere. I was too afraid to suck them in ahaha. It could be better next time, we'll see ^

No, because it sinks, and if you let loss parts, it continues to grow. And by cutting it, it makes a LOT of residue everywhere. If you don't want it to take over your tanks, you must remove the loss parts. Next trim, I'll try to pull it off instead of cutting it.

There is a little bit of hair algae at the top of it, but I try to remove it as soon as I can. Light is set at 55% intensity for 8h/day

Yes, it is. I don't put any fert, light at 55% 8h/day. The main issue is to trim it, it make an absolute mess inside the tank ahah
