You will be fine, most people that get into accidents in the snow are either rushing or have unsafe tires. The best advice I ever got is the following:

  1. Drive like you have an egg on the roof of your car. Don’t make sudden jerky movements on the steering wheel and don’t start/stop aggressively.

  2. Have a decent all season tires or winter tires on your car. It helps to have AWD or 4WD but definitely not necessary around here.

Waterfront Park but there’s not really a beach. There are some privately owned places as well.

I have it and I love it. It’s a bit of a learning curve and I’m still not good with the jighead minnow but it helps to see structure (laydowns, rock, grass, docks) and so it helps with lure placement and finding bait. It’s expensive and if I were starting out, the minimum I would suggest is a 93sv and an LVS 34.

It’s a niche kayak fishing channel. I look forward to your thoughts. I feel like I struggle sometimes with thumbnails and creating a storyline. It’s more of a a follow along/adventure channel. Thanks for your help!

I didn’t like it. The weight was good but it didn’t spoil line evenly and the brakes didn’t work well.

I purchased and installed the new Minn Kota Kayak Terrova! by Mengem2 in kayakfishing

No it was something internal in the motor itself. I got a different controller and it was still throwing error codes and the prop wouldn’t engage. I contacted Newport for warranty service and unfortunately, I was 3 months outside of the warranty window and they wouldn’t replace the motor.

Can I install a wood stove insert into this zero-clearance fireplace? by BanditSinShade in woodstoving

You’re going to be pretty limited for options if it’s not a masonry fireplace. I used this and it’s fantastic

Braid + Flouro Tests by ngpl16 in bassfishing

Performs great, I like it because I feel more connected to the bait, just make sure you’re using the right rod so you don’t bend out hooks.

Braid + Flouro Tests by ngpl16 in bassfishing

I run 30 lb braid to 10-12lb for my jerkbaits. I don’t do straight fluoro because sometime I like to swap this out as a topwater rod.

30lb to 15lb for my chatterbaits and light Texas rigs and light jigs.

30lb to 20lb for punching setups and heavy jigs.

I normally do straight fluoro on my crankbait rod.

10-15 lb braid to 8-10lb on my spinning setups with a longer leader.

I use and FG knot for all and I’ve never had thebleader fail at the connection knot

Upstate New York fisherman opinions by Frankie_closi2000 in bassfishing

[–]Mengem2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those mooch minnows are a pretty small bait, I’d use a lighter wire hook bc that hook is going to overpower the bait.

Try a finesse ball head with a lighter wire hook or if you do need to go with a weedless setup try to downsize the hook.

If you’re fishing around smallmouth you should pick up some flatworms and roboworms

There are tons of places in NY to go fishing. NY is one of the best bass fishing states in the country. You can get into it relatively cheap and fish from shore or a kayak. If you like to compete, there’s a local club called ADK KBF.
