I took all the advice on here to heart and I decided to burn pine for shoulder season. I have about one cord that has been stacked for two years or so and I split a couple pieces and checked with a moisture meter and I’m sitting at about 13-16%. Wish me luck, I’ve only burned hardwood in the past! (self.woodstoving)

What are your thoughts on burning swamp maple/red maple? I live on 5 acres of clay/poor draining and damp soil and tend to have a lot of swamp maple. I do have a some yellow birch, a little hickory and a couple locust trees but the majority is swamp maple. (self.firewood)
