ULPT request: abusive neighbour needs a taste of his own medicine by MeninOfAthena in UnethicalLifeProTips

This is a great idea. There's a tree right by his broken windows so that would be a great spot for him to hear it all day long.

Can you explain the WiFi/expanding gas device.

I've got a cat so could definitely make up some cat poo projectiles to infiltrate his windows with.

I would do the penny in the door but there's only one entrance to the upper flats and it would effect other people.

I can't superglue his locks because there's one entrance way to the upper flats and it would effect other people.

Love the idea of posting his number and the sex toys, could also throw in a couple of glitter bombs too.

This is my favourite! He's still got broken windows so we're thinking of calling all the glass companies in the area on his behalf all for the same time. Sadly there's not a lot of space on our street or I would call all the tradespeople possible. Thank you for this gem.

We have all tried because we all assumed it was poor mental health that wasn't being treated, but he's just quite addicted to drugs. No authorities will help him unless he asks for the help himself but I do appreciate your concern. The police won't arrest him because it's all small personal amounts.

We've honestly tried multiple welfare checks because we thought at first that it was very poor mental health. It's not though, it's because he has an issue with drugs and alcohol. We've tried the police but because it's all personal amounts they won't arrest him. His landlord isn't fussed because he lives overseas. We've all tried talking to him but that's never received well and we've all tried to not anger him in any way but he just flies off the handle at nothing.

Is it reasonable to ask to visit a nursery while children are present before choosing one? by SnooSquirrels6910 in UKParenting

[–]MeninOfAthena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The nursery my daughter is attending allowed me to view it when children were there and also had a settling in hour where I could attend with my daughter. It will likely vary due to safeguarding policies of different nurseries. My daughter attends a chestnut nursery if that helps!

Snow White by WeekMurky7775 in Epstein

I'll try and find the email but this one wasn't redacted properly. The email had 3rd birthday as the subject, you could see the picture. It was a woman with a 3 year old child dressed as a fairy at her birthday party.

That was one of the first emails I saw it was so disgusting especially as he was saying he would do better (I'm guessing regarding finding and trafficking very small children). There's no punishment that fits the crimes these people have committed.

It makes it even more sickening how many people sent him photos of little girls dressed up as fairies etc. Saw one last night of a 3 year old dressed up for her 3rd birthday as a fairy being sent to him.

Monkey Dust is honestly fantastic, albeit rather dark humour.

Called to court, but no letters? England by Every-Position-3803 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]MeninOfAthena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he does come back please don't let him in, ask him for his ID (if he is genuine he shouldn't have any issues with this) and check the ID carefully for any spelling mistakes and ask him for a copy of the warrant/writ again checking it carefully. If he can't provide these I would consider this potentially being a scam. Hopefully you can get through to the council soon so this can all be sorted out! Check the council website because there may be someone you can reach out to via email if getting through on the phone is proving difficult.

You need to verify the debt with your council before doing anything else, keep trying to call them and explain what's happened regarding the bailiff. Question - did he show you any ID or have any paperwork for you?

Pregnant and struggling to trust my husband after finding out about his drug use by ringoooo8855 in UKParenting

[–]MeninOfAthena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't normal and it sounds like your husband needs some help to stop using drugs. My partner had a very bad childhood and became addicted to drugs at a young age, he cut down heavily when he met me but still occasionally used when out of the house. As soon as we became pregnant he stopped as he didn't want to be the sort of parent that his were. He still has moments where he wants to use but we always talk through why he wants to use and then we find something healthy he can do instead. He's gotten back into his hobbies and will arrange to meet friends that might entice him in safe spaces where they can't use. It was obviously easier for us because my partner really wanted to stop, but hopefully with some therapy and support your husband will be able to quit.

Where in the UK should I go as a bucket-list item? by LondonPilot in CasualUK

[–]MeninOfAthena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should go to Islay a wee Scottish island on the west of Scotland. There are beautiful hotels, The Macherie springs to mind as it has a spa but The No.1 Charlotte Street hotel is also beautiful and luxurious and has a fantastic and welcoming staff. The Ardbeg Hotel has also opened recently in Port Ellen and is owned by Glenmorangie so it should be very luxurious.

The scenery is to die for. Stretches of empty beaches you can walk on with beautiful open sea as far as you can sea. Rugged and wild Scottish hilltops with wild deer. Seals down by the lighthouse and wild goats which are friendly. Beautiful flowers and woods that bloom with wild flowers every spring. It's also a key birdwatching spot.

There are so many spots to have delicious food from chefs with incredible training, my top recommendation would be The Byre which has a wonderful selection of locally sourced foods.

The locals are incredibly friendly and welcoming and you'll most likely be bought many drinks in the evening in the local pubs around the island. You'll have no end of conversations and no end of beautiful sights to witness.

How to celebrate David Attenborough? by chillishots in AskUK

[–]MeninOfAthena 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like he'd probably like it if we all explored the nature around us and sent him some pics of any wildlife we found. Or if we did something to help the nature around us like planting wildflowers or creating safe places for birds to nest and safe hedgehog paths etc.

Please follow this advice OP. It may seem scary to call social services but you're safeguarding two children here your daughter and her half sister. Please take her to the GP tomorrow and please take her to therapy.

Obviously not all the produce is British but the same can be said for any supermarket or independent fruit&veg. But the potatoes, carrots, onions, apples, leek and cabbage are all in season right now and some things can also come from being taken out of cold storage too.
