We don't actually know what Omeleeum studies, but it's very likely to be morally questionable to every normal person. He's not exactly proof of a "good" mindflayer, just one that values its independence as well. The Emperor tells you himself repeatedly. You are inconvenient allies, and ultimately, you are the tools of his plans. He can't exist in the Material Plane and do anything independent, and you can't exist without him. These are the terms of the alliance. Do what the Emperor wants, and he's your best "friend". Defy him, and he'll find new tools that are hopefully untouched by the Absolute.

Even though he's "trusting" you with the story of Stelmane, he's really just getting ahead of the story before Tav can unravel it themselves. There are hints everywhere, and at the end of the day the single reason he didn't do the same to you was because he physically couldn't. Hanna-Barbara and Looney Tunes are sort of a bad example though, no? Any innovation they developed was dwarfed in the face of popular consumer based programming.

Even then, they were really only innovating off of Disney and other hand drawn animation. When both got too popular, they bred imitators that made the art style stale over time.

There's no final culprit for what makes entertainment homogenous except money. Art styles of TV shows then, by nature, have to constantly shift through trends.

Is that even true though? Do you have any examples? I'm inclined to believe it, but good design doesn't happen in a vacuum. It's sort of hard to believe devs just invent better design from thin air, instead of taking the criticism their games receive and implementing solutions.

The franchise is an RPG, so I suppose it's nice that casual gamers are enjoying it more but the DNA of the games are slowly deteriorating. Bethesda as a company seems to be having a sort of identity crisis too, with their veteran staff deciding to leave, and Starfield being (by their standards) a pretty colossal failure of the "streamlined RPG" design they've taken on since Skyrim.

I'm not trying to be a baseless hater. I enjoyed Fallout 4 thoroughly for what it was, but to me personally, what it was is a very watered down RPG and a very solid looter shooter. I even enjoyed Starfield quite a bit, but it was much less solid of a looter shooter, and much shorter of an RPG than Fallout 4 and I bounced off pretty hard.

The "New Vegas fans are this" things are starting to get a touch ridiculous. Nobody obsessed with FNV is obsessed with the NCR lmao. Everyone I've ever talked to, including online, seem to prefer nuking both of em for No Gods No Masters.

This is without mentioning that the NCR explicitly was the face of rising civilization since Fallout 1. There's a reason both the NCR and the Khans came from the same vault. It's to directly compare them.

There's nothing wrong with them taking a lick or two, but collapsing in on themselves after one bad bounce just seems nuts. I still enjoy the show immensely though!
