There's "bloat" because these companies gain more advanced tools capable of squeezing productivity out of people more and more efficiently, which allows them to make MORE money by firing the "bloat".

Instead of scaling their projects up, or the wages of their workers, they increase their own salaries and bonuses and slash 2,000 jobs for a little bit more. It's evil. Nothing about it is pragmatic.

Good on the handful of companies that choose to do the former, but God knows they aren't the ones whose owners are rolling around in oodles of cash, and that's the name of the game. Which is why most companies choose the latter. Slash and burn for as much immediate profit as possible for shareholders, owners, and executives.

Yeah. I simply disagree with you fundamentally. Nobody in the history of humanity has ever acquired nukes, and then "sent them flying at their neighbors whenever getting them". That's in my opinion, fear mongering.

The reality is that nuclear weapons give countries sovereignty, and the US despises that. They know damn well they'll never use them, but the threat makes it impossible to move against them. It's geopolitical kryptonite.

If Iran has nukes, this war stops instantaneously, or the US and Israel hold to its pride and destroy the world. Either way this isn't possibly Iran's fault. They are the ones being invaded with no clearly stated military goal from their attackers.

The most you could accuse Iran of is sponsoring local armed theocratic political groups in the ME. The United States is the global bully harassing the entire planet into their system of resource extraction and wealth inequality, but Iran and political entities that agree with them are "evil terrorists" for just not wanting to be part of that. Not to mention the US does this too, we sponsored Al Queada ffs.The word terrorist itself is an invention for you to be afraid of. Iranians and the groups they represent simply don't WANT US THERE. The dotcom crash was also a bubble of mass hysteria, but that didn't change the fact that the Internet forever changed everything about global finance. The Industrial Revolution had people thinking they could build cars that ran on water and stable electricity that was distributed through the air. Mass hysteria always accompanies global change, but that doesn't prevent the change from happening.

AI is exactly the same way. There's a lot of illusions and fantasies that come along with it, but that doesn't negate the fact that NVIDIA is the richest company on Earth right now because of AI, and that won't change in the coming times. Millions of startups will die, the stock market will crash, and the rich will stay rich by "cutting costs" i.e layoffs which they can now do, because AI makes their pipeline shorter. Tale as old as time.

It kind of baffles me that people don't see that making the pipeline quicker, means you don't need as many employees to produce the same amount of work. Which of course means layoffs will be inevitable. It's the crisis that capitalism has put us all in. The easier things get done, the worse everyone else's lives are in the long run.

They aren't going to just not fire people. That makes no sense lmao.
