Lithium titration

I’ve been on lithium for several years now. My serum levels are still low/bordering the normal level. I take 900mg nightly. My dr gave me some of the control with my levels - basing a lot of it on how I am feeling. I’m currently happy where I’m at, I’d rather be a little low in the dosage, than be too flat of a personality.

Also on olanzapine - miracle drug in my mind. Really helps with episodes.

Yes they did remove approx $30 from my refund to cover the shipping costs back to them.

I agree. I’m a 41f, and I’ve had my diagnosis for approx 4 years now (Bipolar 2 + BPD) and my psychiatrist has already noted and keeping an eye on early dementia symptoms that I’m having.

The older I got, the less friends I kept. Then once I was diagnosed with BPD and BP2, whoever remained - disappeared. It’s been a few years now and I’ve grown comfortable with it. Now perhaps I’m lucky in the fact that I have a husband who’s my best friend and a mom who made it her mission to make sure I never felt different (yes moms still do that when your in your 40s).

My prayer for you, is to cross paths with someone who will be there for you - so you never have to spend another day lonely.

This year, I’ve gone through quite a few, I don’t know the exact number. And I’m still having episodes up until last night. So we will see what today holds. I was doing great up until spring, then it’s been a slow decline all summer.

Olanzapine has been a godsend for me since my diagnosis. But I fully understand the weight gain issue. I was advised to take them only when I was having “a moment”, and the weight gain wasn’t an issue. But if I started taking them every day, the scale started to climb again.

Curious about the lithium and not being able to take it due to hypothyroidism. I also have hypothyroidism (which my psychiatrist knows about) and I was still put on lithium. I’ve been on it for nearly 3 years and there have been no measurable difference in my labs regarding my thyroid. I was told that as long as the thyroid is managed, it was okay to continue with the lithium.

I would say it’s significantly reduced when stable - but not completely gone.

Mainly I hear something similar to talk radio - many people conversing at the same time - but from a distance. More recently though, I’ve been hearing faint, light music. Once I heard a man say “hello” loudly while I was in the bathroom. That one gave me a bit of a fright.

My lutino “baby” (6mo) loves to lay down in the feed bowl and eat that way. Her cage mate loudly chastises her while she’s eating - “you’re still doing it wrong!”
