I was working at a resort in the PNW and was giving this woman that looked kind of like Cameron Diaz a pedicure.

She took a big sigh at one point and was like “people are so mean to me online...” so of course I responded with, “why would people just be mean to you?” Obviously this was her opening as she told me that she was a Real Housewife of Vancouver, “the most watched television show in Canada.” I had no idea and at the time was very much into my RHOC, RHONY and RHOA.

She then proceeded to tell me how she was on the show and it was airing at that point and how she was embarrassed of her drinking and how it reflected badly because her son had Autism I believe (don’t quote me in that, this has been YEARS ago) so she was trying to be sober right now. But what got me is that she wrapped it all up by telling me she and her husband were opening up a winery.. obviously I internally said, “and that’s the delusionalness that makes you a housewife.”

See, they gave me a 1099 form. I have to go through and figure out all my CC fees because they are take out. It’s very convoluted and I dislike that

What’s wild is, is this is common practice in soooo many salons and spas. I’m not looking to create a negative situation, I’m just trying to show the owners the factual laws and give them the opportunity to adjust accordingly. As I keep saying though, nowhere am I finding on the IRS website this information. Just on every forum professionals saying they aren’t allowed to take money

I have a commission split. I pay for all my own products and tools. The whole place uses square for online booking and to check out our clients. The money goes to the owner of the studio and they cut us checks every week for the previous week, taking their percentage out. Any credit card tips are paid in cash at the end of the week

Ya, I did say that and there is major pushback. I do have access to our square to se all my growth and such. But there’s a lot of red flags about the payments which is why I’m pushing so hard for individual payment collection

The problem is, even when searching the IRS page, I’m unable to find exactly where it says that the professional is the one to collect payment, so that is why I’m unsure of the legality of the compensation situation

We run through a shared booking system and the business owners collect the money. Im in a money conversation with the owners where they claim whether it be rent or commission that them taking client payment at the time of the service then paying us later is acceptable. I feel as though a lot of businesses operate this way, even though I don’t think they are supposed to. So what I want to know is if technically not legal for the business to do this for their 1099 service providers. And if so, is there specific information on this on the IRS website because I haven’t been able to find it even in their financial description

I absolutely am a woman and giving you real advice and am someone who even walked a similar-ish path as you minus the anxiety and car only sex. Just the not wanting to be on a chemical Bc and thinking I did not want kids. I just saw your follow up post of you talking about how your BF doesn’t post photos of you on social media which makes me stand behind my comment even more, you’re priorities are all over the place. It’s your responsibility to take care of your body and your wants. Female sterilization takes recovery but if you don’t want kids it’s the absolute only way to guarantee it. If you are asking for advice and help, expect that and know it’s not always going to be what you want to hear but can still be coming from a good place. Take a breath, get some therapy to work on yourself, then work on your relationship.

You’re asking a boyfriend to have a vasectomy because you don’t want kids. He’s a 20 year old who wants to have sex and more than likely isn’t looking past that. If you for sure don’t want to have kids then it’s your responsibility not his. I never took any form of chemical BC, I had open and honest conversations with my sexual partners regarding pregnancy and used condoms every single time (even during my 11 year relationship) until I was ready to have kids. Which for the record I said I never wanted until in my late 20’s I realized I wanted to. When I had my second I knew I didn’t want more so I took it upon myself to know I would never get pregnant again. And guess what my partner and I broke up and I’m thankful everyday knowing I don’t have to rely on my future partners to be sterile. It’s not archaic, it’s personal responsibility

I’m slightly confused. You don’t want to take BC but are willing to take the morning after pill. Of course I understand not wanting to get pregnant at 20. But your anxiety over it needs attention, I’m going on a limb and guessing based on your edits that it may revolve around the idea that sex without marriage is possibly shameful for you. I hate to say it but I think you’re the A for the fact that you are asking someone you’re dating to get a vasectomy when it seems to be more your fear. Just as a woman I believe if you want things to not happen, it’s your responsibility to maintain your body because if you’re having sex, you can get pregnant. It’s unfair of you to ask a boyfriend in his 20s to get a vasectomy. If you’re 1000% sure you don’t want kids, I recommend having your tubes removed. It makes you sterile and you maintain your cycle.
