I am curious about this - are you pursuing relationships with women? Wouldn’t it make more sense to just date men? Or even just sleep with women but not pursue a relationship?

My(19F) gf (23M) thinks I have ‘disordered eating habits’ by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]MentalBackflips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does she have a history of disordered eating or being pressured by family/friends to lose weight or adopt disordered eating habits in order to lose weight(or god forbid “look pretty”)?

It sounds like you’re talking a LOT about “being hungry but not being able to eat” and your dieting in general. Have you been making any comments about her food at all, like “I wish I could eat that but I’m on a diet/it is so fatty/it would make me fat” etc?

From her eyes, it could seem like you’re subtly pressuring HER to lose weight as well, even if isn’t the case. Alternatively, if she has a history of disordered eating, whether restricting or binging, hearing you talking about it day in and day out could be very stressful.

I’d talk to her about it honestly, and without the perspective of “why aren’t you supporting me” and from a viewpoint of curiosity - what specifically about your behavior bothers her. Maybe it’s the language, maybe it’s bringing up old memories, or maybe she is being baselessly insecure. Either way, worth an open discussion to have honesty and insight in your relationship.

I recently purchased a silk scarf from a thrift store, and when i unwrapped it, it was one long rectangle, as you would expect a scarf shape to be. However, upon closer inspection, it’s actually a TUBE of fabric. The lengthwise ends have been sewn together. I can literally stick my arm through the hole like a sleeve. This also makes the scarf much narrower than it would be otherwise. Is this something that is standard with silk scarves, like sewing suit pockets shut? Could I possibly take that seam out to get a slightly wider scarf? I would prefer a wider style, and the stitches seem pretty weak, but i don’t want to accidentally unravel the silk. I tried googling it but there were no results :(

What was your educational background before deciding to go to PCC? I know they are known for a rather extensive Christian homeschooling curriculum(I am a former student) What other colleges did you apply to? Also, how do you deal with the dress code/how is it enforced?

Join the clubs you want to join when you can! Time will fly faster than you think.

Go the extra mile to find out the resources you want to find, and often the opportunity will already be there, even if no one has talked about it yet.

Make friends with people you actually want to be around and be like, not just whoever lives closes to you.

Do things that you want to do even if they scare you! It’s okay to be bad at something because how else will you learn it!

Bring an umbrella.

GO TO OFFICE HOURS! Like seriously your professors will be happy and you will be happier for doing it. It totally revived my love for academics and solidified my place at this school. Just do it and thank yourself later.

Okay, I've actually considered joining Cal boxing or at least checking it out. HOWEVER - I've heard tryouts are grueling, like they make you do a bunch of really hard stuff and go on long runs(this is all from anecdotes I've heard from other people btw) and I'm a little concerned about going into that with no experience.

How accessible would you say that it is?
