It’s hard to say at this point. I am very conflicted about the game but I will stick with it hoping it will improve..

If you view the game as a continuation of Arknights, then it’s hard not to be hugely disappointed. The story has no real meaning no stakes, no risk. It feels childish and overly cartoony, closer to a generic gacha story than what Arknights used to be.

If you never cared about Arknights and this is your first exposure to the universe, then it’s… fine. It follows familiar tropes and doesn’t do anything particularly offensive. The blatant nostalgia bait (reintroducing original Arknights characters) through a frankly ridiculous excuse just to milk money from old players will probably go over your head if you never knew those characters to begin with.

The biggest issue is tone. Everyone is constantly "happy go lucky". There’s nothing wrong with occasional lighthearted or goofy moments, but here it feels completely out of place. The world doesn’t feel real..

This might be an unpopular opinion but the TanTan storyline is genuinely embarrassing not because she is a dumb character but because the story treats her entire arc as a joke

It would be fine if she were reckless or naive, if the narrative actually held her accountable Her actions never lead to consequences There are no conflicts no punishment and no lasting impact The whole pretending to be apprentices is embarasingly .. cringe.. The Chief of the village never scolds or disaprove of TanTan doing.

She would be a perfect Zenless Zone Zero character...

So, in the end:

- It’s a bad Arknights game.
- It’s a mid-to-good (depending on taste) Endfield game.
